I agree, Obama has been so divisive that chances of the nation going to a black, two in a row after how tumultuous this has been is simply not possible.

And Geraldine Ferraro did indeed make it impossible for a woman to be on the ticket....

He has not advanced the cause by being incompetent and adversarial.

So the Democratic party really IS racist...thanks for confirming that.

And it's a relief to know Hillary is out because of her skin...

Carsons main objection to evolution lies in the fact that he doesn't believe that complexity can't arise out of simplicity. I haven't taken advanced embryology but I have taken chaos theory and spontaneous order. Which is where his issue, the doubting of emergence of complexity from simple systems, lies.

Plenty of other scientists have delved into the emergence of complexity in evolution (such as the evolution of the eye). It has been Carsons prerogative to ignore that in favor of a centuries old book. That is not a decision I can respect, and not a quality I want in a leader.

Carson has much a chance of winning the Republican nomination as Trump does.
This is always the problem with the Republican presidential candidate search is that they allow the clown car to bring the candidates.

You can respect it or not, Im saying his opinion is more informed than yours, and deserving of some respect.

    Oh my.

Look at remarks through your own prism much? You think only Democrats vote Democratic? You think only Republicans vote Republican?

Some people vote for the best of the two candidates on offer. Some people don't say = My Grandaddy voted ______________ so I must vote for them too.

Well that's quite an improvement and I stand corrected. I'll rephrase that then.
It's a sad commentary on any people, and its media, when not believing in 'evolution' becomes an election issue.
You seem to be one of those progressives who really has an understanding of what's really important for the future of the country.

And I'm saying it's not. Because, as an intelligent guy, if he had informed himself he would have arrived at the same conclusion as the rest of the intelligent people.

Sure, Carson is worthy of respect. But a dumb opinion, even from an incredibly smart person, is not worthy of respect.

So yes, an appreciation for the scientific method, the primary method by which humanity has benefitted over the last few millenia, is a particularly important trait for the leader of the free world.

    To me, anyway

If Ben Carson did not believe in gravity, or did not believe that the Earth was spherical, I would also consider that to be an election issue because it betrays a deep ignorance. I'm not suggesting the president has to be a theoretical physicist, but I am not one to follow ignorance.
