I'm not a big Star Trek fan, but I am a big Sci-Fi fan, and the whole sci-fi genre owes a lot to Mr. Nimoy. May he RIP.

I was a big Star Wars fan when I was little. My favorite game franchise is the Mass Effect series. Also a bunch of TV shows from Quantum Leap, to Eureka, etc.

My best friend just got me into watching Stargate SG-1 and I am IN LOVE with that show. I started watching that show in January and I'm currently in the middle of season 6.

First off, I apologize if this has been posted someone. I looked around but didn't find a thread, so I thought I should put this up. Kind of surprised actually it hadn't been put up as yet. Nimoy is probably the first actor, or famous person really, that has passed away that I really cared anything about. That's not the say that just as big or bigger icons haven't passed away in my lifetime, just none that I took an interest in. Thought I'd share his last tweet he sent out just a few days ago:

At this moment, #RIPLeonardNimoy is the #2 Trending Topic worldwide, so I guess I'm not the only one that's sad that he's gone.
I am actually OK with this despite being a trekky. By the time people reach 70s/80s I am not too surprised. Plus I was well aware that he was having health issues after being hospitalized a couple of months ago. For some reason Robin Williams Death affected me much more. Nimoy lived a long and healthy life and always had a smile on his face.

Ah. I agree with you on the first three Star Wars films. (The more recent three are best forgotten.) Other than Star Trek there hasn't been an SF television series that appealed to me.

I know what you're saying, it should have come as no surprise, but it still gets me.

As far as Robin Williams, on totally with you there. I watched the first interview his daughter has given since his passing. YIKES! That was a heart clincher and thought damn, I still feel incredibly sad at his passing.

To Leonard Nimoy a toast to a man who was fortunate to live long and did prosper. Though I wasn't a fan of Star Trek, he is the character that stands out the most, second Scotty. Nimoy had a great eye for photography and some of his pics are online. Rest in peace Dr. Spock.

Landau and Barbara Bain were married IRL, and left MI to capitalize on their fame from the series. They had some success, but not the breakthrough I think they believed was coming.
