Yup. A lot of them. Second largest party.

(second, no I'm not considering, admittedly, Democracy hasn't been that great for Russia). But, besides that, what would a Russian Communist government look like.... if not the Soviet Union?
    No idea.
But it goes way beyond the communist party. The Wiki article lists many members of the opposition of putin in Russia who were nominated by the anti-putin movement.

I could be wrong, but did you mean to say that the elections are fraudulent?
Yes. Excuse me, one too many Miller Lites as I wait for the snow.

If that's the case, I would actually be surprised to find out if they were. As I said, I think there is a lot of genuine appreciation for that Putin has done (I've had the privilege of speaking to a couple of Russians actually in one of my online gaming groups who have expressed as much).
I dont doubt that Putin has been appreciated by many in the Russian population, but I do however doubt his electorial tactis as do many observers of not only the presidential election, but the legislative elections as well.

    When did this occur though?
87-89 is when they gained momentum.

See I'd be very surprised if it occurred in the beginning with a traditionalist like Brezhnev in power, but not so shocked if it occurred either midway or towards the end during Gorbachev who was a far more moderate leader, and a reformer in many respects.
Well yes that is when they started to gain momentum because of Glasnost.

You know what boggles me the most about you? I mean, you go on and on about all the evils of the US, but you don't seem to have any problem with the stuff that Putin is doing in Russia. I mean, if you were at least fair and would call out both sides, then at least I'd be able to understand it. Instead, it seems like you think all the evil in the world goes back to the US and you probably think much like Putin that the world would be a better place if the Soviet Union were still around oppressing millions of people.
How many times do I have to tell you that I'm an American, I live in America, I work in America, I pay taxes in America, I vote in America. I don't have a ****ing dog in Russia. If you have your knickers in a knot over Russia, then go do what you can do about it. But I'm concerned about my country, it's credibility, legitimacy, value, credit and reputation. And as such I will be pursuing those interests. Knock yourself out bitching about Russia, and good luck with your agenda there.

Assassinated right on the doorstep of the Kremlin. I wonder if Putin watched from a window.

    The car's window maybe.

    So a coincidence, or
is Putin cleaning up a bit of distracting business
    ?

If you have any proof, let us and Mr. Putin see it, eh?

Just the latest in a long list of Putins victims . I've posted this elsewhere but it bears repeating in the context of this thread

Yet despite all this ,this is still the sort of guy some American posters here want us to admire and appease

In an anonymous forum, just about any nationalist Russian can claim the above.
