    that's fact.
Now, see, you're not doing snark right. It's supposed to be obvious snark, not snark disguised as conservative lies.

    1. Customs and Border Patrol will cut hours and very publically claim that Republicans forced the nation to become less secure
    2. TSA will cut hours and millions of people will have to wait longer to get on airplanes. Republicans will be blamed
    3. Animal and Plant Health Inspection will cut hours so that meat and veggies don't make it to the grocery store as quickly. Republicans will be blamed

The only stuff that will change will be the stuff people actually see and feel. The other 19 agencies under DHS will still keep running full throttle because nobody knows who they are or what they do.
Lol and also pretty much. How many terrorists do you think will be able to sneak through our southern borders now that Border Patrol is getting their hours cut?

I recall a lot more opposition from the Blue Dogs, hell the only reason I know the term is because of the ACA debate. We don't hear them, now of course because by this point, all the moderate house democrats have been driven out by successive mid-term beat downs.

Honestly, the House and Senate should work together to find a compromise both can find amenable. There is a reason after all why we have a Senate AND a House.

That being said, at this point it was really the only option and it should of been passed I will grant you that.

There is such a compromise, and it was forged in the Senate. Boehner needs to grow a pair and bring that bill to the House floor already.

Senators McConnell and Reid working together for a one-week extension and adjourning for the weekend, as predicted the night of the election.
Enough DEMs will vote with a majority of GOPs to pass the one-week extension, as with the Cromnibus.
It starts all over again next Monday.
Kudos to McConnell for making DC continue to work a five-day week .

I gotta say, I'm not a fan of McConnell, but he has been leaps and bounds more mature than Boehner has been in this fiasco.

Here is the DHS's contingency plan in case they go to a partial shutdown.

My respect for McConnell would increase immensly if he said that this was his intent: to teach Congress how to work again. I doubt he'll do it but it would be lulzy.

I figure it's a pretty reasonable assumption considering that when they shut down the government a while back we had armed guards that had never been there before standing guard to keep people out of national parks. This kind of crap is all about politics and optics. It's nothing more than Democrats throwing a hissy fit and they like to do that in the most visible way possible so we can all see how important they are.

If you cannot accept the fact that 245 (GOP reps) > 188 (Dem reps), then you have zero standing in this debate. A demonstration of basic arithmetic skills would help you here.

The Senate has adjourned until Monday. Get some sleep, senators--you're going to need it.

Boehner? It's all you, man, it's all you.
