So it is with a sense of loss that I note Leonard Nimoy's passing. He gave us a wonderful character that filled our imaginations and gave us many hours of intellectual enjoyment. And yes, all these many years later, I am still a dedicated Trekkie.
"I think the best way of doing good to the poor, is not making them easy in poverty, but leading or driving them out of it." --Benjamin Franklin 1776
"Small people talk about people, average people talk about events, great people talk about ideas" Eleanor Roosevelt
To her Wall Street owners: Hillary Clinton: “But if everybody's watching, you know, all of the back room discussions and the deals, you know, then people get a little nervous, to say the least. so, you need both a public and a private position.” - Hillary Clinton: "I'm kind of far removed from the struggles of the Middle Class"
A sad day for trekkies everywhere
A lot of us grew up watching him through his iconic character Spock
The Vulcan who epitomized the word cool
Not many characters are more recognized and loved than Spock was.....
Live long and prosper.....
“Most of the shadows of this life are caused by standing in one's own sunshine.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson
I mentioned to a young woman who happened to come over today that Nimoy - Spock - had died. She hadn't heard, and she admitted her first thought was that I meant Zachary Quinto, the young Spock. Generations change, and Spock means new things to the new fans.
The character will continue, but will always reflect what Nimoy did.
No one has come close to duplicating the character he defined.
Lived a good life, brought enjoyment to millions of people.
If my post offends you, I deeply Apple-O-Jize.
