You hit the nail on the head, he was a great human being.

    RIP.

My great-grandmother lived to 105 and she was very active until the end. She enjoyed her life, every day of it.

I wonder if they will incorporate into the show because Nimoy has been a part of the show up until now.

They cannot live alone or even with their spouse in their own house as they need a stranger to come in everyday and take care of everything. They lose their independence, their life is that of being at the mercy of those around them.

Their fragile bodies move at a tortoise's pace and pain is experienced commonly.

No thanks. I plan to never use drugs and stuff to keep me artificially alive, when I'm gone I'm gone. You can call me naive or whatever but
I won't listen to anyone telling me otherwise.

I agree. 83 is not as old as it used to be!

I also have met a lot of people in the last few years who are in their late 70s, 80s, even early 90s who can kick my butt energy-wise...

I wish we could have had Nimoy for a few more years, but at least we had him for 83.

    Read my statement carefully.

    Notice the word "but."

Your mom's quality of life was good enough for her that perhaps she didn't want to die and she didn't.

For me, the second I lose my independence is the second I want to die. Whether that is at 70 years old or four freaking hundred years old. Quality of life for me is important, and the second I reach the age that it deteriorates t such a horrific level is the second I will pull my own goddamn plug if I have to.

Agreed. Nimoy brought to life Spock, who was an iconic character that most certainly left a mark on the generations that enjoyed watching him.

While we all understand what you feel, especially those of us who are closer to it than you are, please take it to another thread, ok?
