Live feed to the FCC vote on Net Neutrality.

those are still on this world....ya gotta show us some islands for sale on other planets

They are all part of countries from what I can tell.

my mistake, i posted the wrong url, however for a few billion, its easy enough to drive a few pylons into international waters and erect a platform.

Actually, people are converting old rigs into "Libertarian Paradises" because they follow maritime law. Good stuff.

yup.

While not what I would call paradise, for those inclined, hopefully it makes them happy.

why did Soros pour 200 million into this?

what part of the internet dont you like that you feel govement will fix?

I was interested and looked this up. This story seems to be the source, with this helpful graphic:

Chart%20%231%20Net%20Neutrality.JPG

So the link appears to be Soros and Ford Foundation fund liberal groups including Harvard, Columbia and ACLU, and liberals support net neutrality, so by process of right wing magic osmosis Soros (The Devil in other words) spent $200 million pushing net neutrality, even though each of those groups would be involved in dozens, maybe hundreds of different issues over the past 15 years or more.

It's pretty fascinating. Sort of like the "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon" game applied to net neutrality.

dude, its travis, just egg him on so he says wacky things.

interesting that doing such bothers you...

I can't understand what gives you the impression that would bother me, unless you took "good stuff" to be sarcastic. I assure you it was quite in earnest.

I think it's sad that people like you take enjoyment over the fact that people hate your system and want to get the hell away from it.

I came away with the impression you were mocking them...

I think it's something I would never contemplate doing, for practice reasons... but it's their business, their lives... I hope they prosper.

So what, I'm supposed to get rich and then just give you my company so I can live on some oil rig somewhere? **** that.

I'm sorry you confuse my desire to help you with mocking you.

As do I.

Yes, but the source was the supposedly serious Media Research Center. That's what's so fascinating, in a morbid sort of way.

I don't know about that. A bunch of the ones already in development aren't what I would call my cup of tea, but a couple are pretty swank looking. You don't have to invest a billion, just sign on with on with one already being made. Check out this bad boy -- no net neutrality here!

The Luxurious Afterlives of Abandoned Sea Forts and Oil Rigs

I know how liberals behave when dealing with the rich. If they took their operations to some oil rig somewhere liberals would be pissed off and bitching and moaning about how awful they are. Please do not think there is any doubt about this.

Sorry you feel that way.

Sorry you feel that way.

Do you really doubt liberals would complain about companies moving their base of operations outside of the country? Hell, the oil rigs are apparently libertarian, so they aren't going to buckle to your will all that easily.

I know that if I were a libertarian I'd be more interested in what these oil rigs would have to offer me than what some anonymous internet person thought of me.

But that's gratitude for you.

I have no interest in some oil rig in the middle of effing no where. Why would I want to live on an oil rig anyway? I just know how liberals behave and how little they really care about anyone but themselves.

Summary: You couldn't find a post in 4 years on DP where you railed against a regulation. Thank you for proving me right.
I really don't care what delusional conclusion you've reached based on this absurd notion that I love every regulation. Oddly enough, the same absolutist standard doesn't apply to yourself. Fun world you live in, where you get to decide the other side is made up of cartoon characters.

Keep your opinion. Everyone else here sees what just happened.

Everyone just saw me offer to take back my absolutist accusation if you could find a post where you railed against a regulation, and everyone just saw you back down because you cannot find one. I love it when I'm not only correct but VERY correct.

Toodles! :2wave:

It's easy to be "VERY" correct when you're the only one you'll listen to.
