‘Jihadi John’: Islamic State killer is identified as Londoner Mohammed Emwazi - The Washington Post

LONDON — The world knows him as “Jihadi John,” the masked man with a British accent who has beheaded several hostages held by the Islamic State and who taunts audiences in videos circulated widely online.
But his real name, according to friends and others familiar with his case, is Mohammed Emwazi, a Briton from a well-to-do family who grew up in West London and graduated from college with a degree in computer programming. He is believed to have traveled to Syria around 2012 and to have later joined the Islamic State, the group whose barbarity he has come to symbolize.

so it turns out this savage is yet another well to do, educated islamic, what drives these people to such barbarity? To give up all they have for this "War" and oppression?

Read about him earlier. Got himself radicalised after detained by law enforcement few times.

With all these islamics traveling to fight for the islamic state, can we really say this is about jobs, economy or islamic aggression for the establishment of the caliphate?

honest answer: I have suspected for a very long time that there is a deep current of bitter resentment among some in the Muslim community for the reason that they were once among the leading and most civilized people in the world and are now pretty much near the bottom of anybody outside of Africa despite sitting atop those rich oil reserves. One only needs to look at the comparative civilizations of Europe and the Middle East during the Crusades to see how far advanced the arabs were compared to many Europeans who were living in almost animalistic conditions.

I suspect they feel that they once were on top of the heap and now they are on the bottom and it just angers them to no end and causes a huge disconnect and they for somebody to blame. And who better than the new top dog they have to look up at.

thats just my two cents based on nothing but my own observations and suspicions.

Wait, can you cite that? I was watching CNN this morning and the ladies were talking about him being suspected of conspiracies (terrorism) before being detained.

Not at all calling you a liar, I am just having trouble finding any real info on this

Needs a better job.

Yes, see, if we could help these people get jobs, then they wouldn't resort to terrorism.

Can we expect that bimbo Marie Harf to share her pearls of wisdom with us again anytime soon?

They said Emwazi and two friends — a German convert to Islam named Omar and another man, Abu Talib — never made it to the safari. On landing in Dar es Salaam, in May 2009, they were detained by police and held overnight before eventually being deported, they added.

He did? What I read is he was detained after radicalization in some of his travels.

A world without this barbaric religion would know peace a lot more than it does now.

A well to do, educated muslim does this ****.

****ing whackjobs.

Well in that case, he should be allowed to saw off the heads of as many " infidels " he can get a hold of.

Police allegedly mimistreated him so his actions are now justified and the Police should stand trial for the lives he's snuffed out.

paragraph above that one:

The Post quoted the friends of Emwazi, who spoke on condition of anonymity, as saying they thought he had started to become radicalized after a planned safari in Tanzania following his graduation from the University of Westminster in London.

So he planned the trip, became radicalized then traveled and was detained.

we can rule out his run-ins with the law for his radicalization.

That is acceptable interpretation.

So glad I had a change of mind when I was picking my DP user name. :)

At least having all these people in one area makes it easier to kill them. And this rat should be at the top of the list.

It is true that no Greek citizens went to fight for ISIS.

But we know that Greek neo nazis went to fight for Assad.

Oh look! They are collecting themselves in the MW so that we can bomb and destroy them all the easier!
Much harder to root around our own countries and find them one by one.

Thanks guys!

Time to institute carpet bombing large swaths of the ISIS held territory.
