Mornin HD. :2wave: It seemed to come at the same time Jeh Johnson of DHS.....put out a warning about a threat to the Mall of America. Course they listed Canada and London. But for some reason.....the Canadians and the Brits didn't have anything up on threats against their malls. Nothing in the news or from their Security Services.

Which that all came out with Jeh running around and crying for BO about DHS not being funded. Quite a coincydincy, huh.

The point being, is how real of a threat is something, and how worried you should be from a threat.

For example, people are more afraid of flying than driving to the airport, yet the drive is the most dangerous part.


Besides, there's more to it than just actual attacks. There is the infestation of them at all levels of society. Courts are starting to use Sharia Law, in Europe they make some neighborhood to dangerous for even cops to go into. Don't think that can't happen here too.

The odds of being killed by a terrorist is about 1 in 3,000,000.

*Whereas the odds of:

Becoming a professional athelete: 1 in 22,000
Being born an identical twin: 1 in 285
Being injured while handling fireworks: 3 in 100,000
Of an asteroid hitting Earth: 1 in 100,000,000

So to your point, it's all relative and, life is risk.... we all have better odds at slipping on the bathroom floor after a shower and going to the hospital.

it means open up your pocket book to ridiculous amount of anti-terror funding and change your laws to make it easier to trample on civil liberties.

It's the boy who cried wolf, only though when something does happen, like the boston bombing, they'll jerk each other off saying "see", even though NOTHING they are doing would have prevented or affected this.


The best was in the other thread where another poster was trying to convince me that the US Government was SOOO efficient and competent in stopping terrorism that it was batting .900 and thats why we need to listen to them,.

How does the FBI know they have members in 49 states? And now a light came on on the ISIS locater board and bing, there's one in Alaska. If the FBI can identify ISISr presence they can identify the members. If they are ISIS then why haven't the FBI been picked up? Well it's a matter of resources. If the FBI only had a lot more money and the power to do the same things as the NSA, CIA and a few other agencies that don't cooperate with each other then the FBI could stop ISIS.

Perhaps it's the Misuse of the word 'terrorist'.
Because 5000+ People died in November Alone from Jihadist Violence.

Lots of GOOFY posts here about "Lightning Strikes", "Lottery Tickets", and "Asteroid Strikes", when 7 people died in EVERY HOUR in November from Islamist/Jihadist Violence, including by ISIS.

Calling themselves "Islamic State" is aspirational. Us calling them that bring it nearer. It recognises and validates their claim, and their extremist agenda. Call them "Daesh" or like the BBC, preface the use of the name with "the so-called" IS.

What the incidence rate per 100,000 there?
Almost 1 per 100,000?

While terrorism and threat of terrorism is real, danger must be dealt with rationally. imho. ymmv

Mornin Vic. :2wave: Yeah two of the ones they busted in NY said they wanted to join ISIS. That if they could not they wanted to attack NY City Cops and then the one guy stated. He wanted to kill BO.

Both said that they would do whatever ISIS told them to do. Looks like the one that was in Florida was their recruiter. He was also down there to get a job working with, cell-phones.

Like the FBI said.....this is more than some people looking on the Internet for stuff about ISIS. In most cases there is contact. Once that takes place. Its all on another level and this type of threat has to be countered.

Again, we can't afford to miss once.....and all the enemy has to do. Is strike once.
