Second Amendment makes no mention of guns. Therefore carrying a knife is also "bearing arms."

I agree-that is why the Federal switchblade idiocy ought to be stricken (Oregon Supreme Court struck down a ban on switchblades based on their own 2A section)

citizens of California need to challenge the idiotic bans on butterfly knives too

but slashing tires isn't protected

No, but a 17-year-old kid that's allegedly wielding a blade probably doesn't need to be shot 16 times to be subdued, especially twice in the back. I'd say that's overkill.

Place yourself in a situation where you had to do the one thing most cops hope never to have to do; you have put a bullet in the guy and he keeps on coming. Your heart rate, already accelerated by having to confront the man, draw your weapon and fire, now, with him still posing a threat to you, your fellow officers and possibly innocent bystanders.....

The average, untrained man with a side arm would put every bullet he had into the situation. That's what I suggest happened here. No over reaction, possibly overkill, and maybe some lack of training...but you will have to find some hard evidence of wrongdoing for me on that jury

Yeah that kid must've been Real life Michael Myers. The investigation is still ongoing and our lovely mayor isn't allowing the video to be released until The elections over. I have a feeling this is going to be a **** storm.

depends how the shots were delivered and in what order

years ago a guy with a 32 caliber Browning Pocket pistol got into a running gun fight with several cops.

Cop #1 engages the mope -mope nicks cop in the leg-cop puts 6 357 125 Grain frontier lawman JHP into mope's chest. at the time that was about the hottest and most lethal pistol round available. Mope reloads and shoots another cop in the vest while taking several more rounds of 125 JHP and several blasts of buckshot at close range. Mope runs some, shoots at another couple cops and the first cop nails him several more times. Mope drops gun and says "I had enough", he dies on the way to the hospital

after reloading at least twice and getting off close to 20 rounds and after being hit with at least 12 hot 357s and more than 15 buckshot balls

The police are supposed to be professionals, not "average, untrained men with a side arm."

Seems Chicago cops have a penchant for killing blacks. City of Chicago Independent Police Review Authority

Chicago police officers shoot, on average, several residents a month. Roughly 75 percent of those shot are black.
