CNN/ORC poll: Majority of Americans oppose Netanyahu invite [W:218, 239]

Re: CNN/ORC poll: Majority of Americans oppose Netanyahu invite [W:218]

I think it's fine.

I like it that Israel bombs and kills the Palestinians and Arabs. Frankly they're not bombing enough. The next GOP president needs to pick up the phone after 20 minutes of being president and tell Netanyahu to use every non-nuclear missile in their inventory and that we'll restock them as they go.

Re: CNN/ORC poll: Majority of Americans oppose Netanyahu invite [W:218]

Ask him, I'm sure he'd answer.

But there's clearly no equivalency between Obama's July 2008 visit and this unsanctioned and politically motivated visit.

so Obama going to Israel was not "politically motivated"? but bibi coming over the possibility of a radical fanatical regime that is sworn to Israel dustruction is " Unsanctioned and politcally motivated"...

do you know how and when the election in Israel was even scheduled?..

It's called rules of Protocol. The PM's visit to the US congress is a rebuke to the President of the US and is attempting to undermine the US foreign policy which the Israeli leader doesn't like. It is a serious breach of protocol and John Boehner knows this along with the Israel PM who thinks he's safe because there is a barrier between the Republican Party and the Democrats headed by Obama.

Below is an article highlighting this breach of protocol by Boehner and Netanyahu. The Israeli leader knew full well what he was doing, but his actions said "screw Obama."

Benjamin Netanyahu addressing Congress: His willingness to play politics with U.S.-Israeli relations is revolting and dangerous.

Protocal..like tapping Merkals phone?..and bowing to the Sauds?

interesting on its own

perhaps even more interesting.

When looking at these two in concert,
Are we finally seeing a shift in the general populace with respect to our policies with Israel?

Still ashamed that Congress gave into Netanyahu's cheap election ploy.

This invite if for political divisive reasons, but no, there should not be an end to change the policies towards Israel too radically.

Repeating that asinine claim doesn't make it any less asinine.

Oh it makes lots of sense... the anti semites are all in the Dem party today..

This idiot loser wanna be commie Barry Hussein Obama is so far over his community organizing head...hes nothing but Sharpton with better ability to read a teleprompter..

Hes not even in Bibis league as far as being a man who stands up to tyrants and scum

Re: CNN/ORC poll: Majority of Americans oppose Netanyahu invite [W:218]

Yeah, why should Netanyahu care any more about President Obama than Obama has demonstrated he cares about Netanyahu?

He doesn't have to like President Obama, he should respect the office of President and how the US government conducts business.

you may want to drop Obama a note and let him know.. Obama has no respect for the office of President...

This Obamas "protocal".... what a loser .. what a disgrace to the office

the speech and to publicly speak out against it.
The Daily Mail reported:

Two prominent black Democrats in the House of Representatives are vowing to skip Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech to Congress next month, a move that a White House insider says was put in motion by the Obama administration.

John Lewis of Georgia and G.K. Butterfield of North Carolina both said Friday that they disapproved when House Speaker John Boehner invited the Israeli leader to address a joint session of Congress on March 3 without consulting President Barack Obama first.

That disapproval apparently was orchestrated, or at least strongly encouraged, by the White House through comamunications with lawmakers connected to the Congressional Black Caucus.

‘I’m not saying the president called anyone personally,’ a current White House staffer told Daily Mail Online.

‘But yeah, the White House sent a message to some at the CBC that they should suddenly be very upset about the speech.’

The source said it was a ‘back-channel’ arrangement that did not involve the higher echelons of the West Wing.

Butterfield’s spokeswoman Kezmiché Atterbury denied it on Friday afternoon, saying he ‘was not asked by anyone at the White House or otherwise’ to skip Netanyahu’s planned address

Re: CNN/ORC poll: Majority of Americans oppose Netanyahu invite [W:218]

not one person on the earth ever felt GWB or any Bush was not a friend of the Jewish people ..

I dont know too many Jews who have anything but disdain for Obama and his inner circle of scum..

Weird since Jewish voters overwhelmingly voted for him twice.

Re: CNN/ORC poll: Majority of Americans oppose Netanyahu invite [W:218]

Oh, I think the Democrats and Obama have a lot to lose by abandoning Israel.

But I do appreciate your honest admission of the diplomacy at play in the pro-Obama camp. It's funny how the pro-Obama folks suddenly start sounding so incredibly imperialistic when they talk about Israel..

For Iran they are willing to address the supposed needs of the Iranian state (which are all lies), for Israel it is "HEEL! Fetch! Roll Over!".

You said this: "why should Netanyahu care any more about President Obama than Obama has demonstrated he cares about Netanyahu?"

You've invented a number of straw men there, but the point was fairly simple and not really arguable - the U.S. - Israel relationship isn't one of equals or approximate equals. One of them depends on the other for its continued safety and security and the other simply does NOT.

Obama and Kerry's obligation is also to serve the interests of the U.S.A - not Israel. If those goals conflict, they have a Constitutional duty to act in our interests, not those of Israel. So it's the Israelis' job to convince Obama that the Iranian negotiations aren't in OUR interest as well as that of Israel, not the other way around. And what a lot of very pro-Israeli commentators have repeatedly pointed out is that picking a public fight with the person you're asking for a favor isn't generally considered a winning strategy.

so security pacts with allies is "inconvienient"...

Obama is a disgrace.. our allies know to never trust him

Yes, it is indeed a serious breach of protocol. Israel is a client state and should not be deliberatly participating in some political stratagem to try and undercut the president of the US. We have always had people in Israel lobbying on behalf of the US against the Likud. Look, Israel has AIPAC and many other well-cushioned Jewish-American organization fighting in America on behalf of Israel, the size of New Jersey. The US in Israel proper is merely trying to protect America's interest. One of Likud's members leaked to the press that "Obama won't be in power long" which meant in two years when Obama's term is up, the Republicans who would put Israel before America, their own country, will then be able to allow Israel more of a free hand but only if there is a Republican president.

not exactly.. but there is not enough Jews as part of the population to sway a vote..

Re: CNN/ORC poll: Majority of Americans oppose Netanyahu invite [W:218]

The shameful racism of the democrat party continues even to the present day.

they dont even try to hide it anymore.. they just keep trying to lie and say they are not..

Re: CNN/ORC poll: Majority of Americans oppose Netanyahu invite [W:218]

So, out of curiosity, what do you think Israel has to lose if it loses US support?

I don't understand your question. A better question is what can Israel do against Iran without current and ongoing U.S. support. Almost nothing seems to me the approximate answer.
