CNN/ORC poll: Majority of Americans oppose Netanyahu invite [W:218, 239]

re: CNN/ORC poll: Majority of Americans oppose Netanyahu invite [W:218]

I think the feeling is mutual, and what's sort of amazing is Bibi is the beggar in the relationship and somehow believes the roles are reversed, and he has the authority to dictate terms to the U.S. and more specifically the WH.
Bibi sees the larger picture and recognizes that BHO is a lame duck. What's important is that the damage created by Obama be curtailed or kept to a minimum for the remainder of his term.

re: CNN/ORC poll: Majority of Americans oppose Netanyahu invite [W:218]

I am ashamed also. The Speaker of the House, John Boehner, is in the clutches of the Tea Party which seems to have taken over the Establishment Republicans. The Tea Party is the group most irreconcilably opposed to President Obama because he is different; hence, they never miss an opportunity to use vindictive spite against this current US president.

Are you ashamed that Obama is so intensely determined to help Iran with its nuclear program? Nah, I'm sure you're not.

Israel is this teeny, tiny postage stamp of a country in the middle of an archaic region of miscreants and barbarism and human indignation. This blip on the map is the only developed culture for thousands of miles that recognizes human rights and civility.

Why do Democrats hate it so?

Because the White House hates it so.

Of course, and Hezbollah, and MEK, and Al Qaeda, and Mossad, and al Nusra, and MB, and CIA.............yes, I can recognize terrorists.

 you lump in the intelligence agencies of Israel, and the US in with the likes of the Hezi's, and AQ? That's just nuts right there.

re: CNN/ORC poll: Majority of Americans oppose Netanyahu invite [W:218]

The nationwide poll, released Tuesday, shows 63% of Americans say it was a bad move for congressional leadership to extend the invitation without giving President Barack Obama a heads up that it was coming. Only 33% say it was the right thing to do.

:doh:lamo:doh
The emboldened is wrong.
Obama was given the heads up. He didn't respond.
Which is exactly the same thing Obama did last time.
And this time around he even spoke to Netanyahu prior to his accepting it, yet nere a word from Obama.
This whole thing was nothing more than manufactured outrage on the part of the Admin. for political reasons.

Still ashamed that Congress gave into Netanyahu's cheap election ploy.
:doh
1. There was no giving in.
2. An invite is not a cheap election ploy.

I would like to see the final results before jumping to conclusions based Bibi Netanyahu's fears. I trust my president and his advisors to do what is right in the interest of America. I believe in statecraft negotiations first and failing that if the US is still perceived to be in danger of being attacked by Iran then we will try something else. Heck no! I am not ashamed. Like why the heck should I be ashamed!? I haven't done anything to be disgraced!

Democrats hate Israel? Didn't know that. I don't hate Israel. I might disagree with some of their policies, but that's not the equivalent of hating a country. I'll bet you have a lot of problems with the Obama administration. Does that imply that you hate the U.S.?

If Iran gets a nuclear weapon, Israel is in trouble.

It is inhabited by Jews. There is no other reason. Absolutely no other reason.

A Timeline of CIA Atrocities

CIA operations follow the same recurring script. First, American business interests abroad are threatened by a popular or democratically elected leader. The people support their leader because he intends to conduct land reform, strengthen unions, redistribute wealth, nationalize foreign-owned industry, and regulate business to protect workers, consumers and the environment. So, on behalf of American business, and often with their help, the CIA mobilizes the opposition. First it identifies right-wing groups within the country (usually the military), and offers them a deal: "We'll put you in power if you maintain a favorable business climate for us." The Agency then hires, trains and works with them to overthrow the existing government (usually a democracy). It uses every trick in the book: propaganda, stuffed ballot boxes, purchased elections, extortion, blackmail, sexual intrigue, false stories about opponents in the local media, infiltration and disruption of opposing political parties, kidnapping, beating, torture, intimidation, economic sabotage, death squads and even assassination. These efforts culminate in a military coup, which installs a right-wing dictator. The CIA trains the dictator’s security apparatus to crack down on the traditional enemies of big business, using interrogation, torture and murder. The victims are said to be "communists," but almost always they are just peasants, liberals, moderates, labor union leaders, political opponents and advocates of free speech and democracy. Widespread human rights abuses follow.

If Iran gets a nuclear weapon, Israel is in trouble.

I do not believe so. The area is simply too small to use a nuclear weapon. The nuclear fallout would last for over a thousand years and contaminate the area.

The Persian culture (Iran) has evolved over thousands of years of recorded history and was among the first civilizations in the world. It held a strikingly complex and stable culture that didn't receive much influence from the outside over millennia. The people are highly intelligent, sophisticated as well as educated, especially the women who are more liberated than many of their Arab neighbors. Iranians are not Arabs....they, I believe, need nuclear power for electricity and cancer cures, etc, not to bomb Israel. They are too smart for such.

Netanyahu, PM of Israel, is running for reelection and is politically using the US to highlight his closeness with America.....President Obama has declined to meet with him. Everything done by the Israeli PM must be seen through a political prism. I do not trust Netanyahu since the last election when he came to the US saying he favored Mitt Romney. He inserted himself into US politics. Israel may be an ally but Netanyahu is the president of the US.

Israel may be an ally, but Netanyahu is the president of the US.

What a horrible mistake! It should read "Israel may be an ally, but Netanyahu is NOT the President of the US."

Forgive my carelessness.

Given the favor Bibi receives over Obama, I'm not so sure amongst part of this crowd.

Bingo! You are one discerning individual.

And? So do lots of Jews living in Israel. I'm also certain you have disagreements with Obama, and often feel quite strongly about those disagreements. So what? It implies nothing about whether I "hate" Israel or you "hate" the U.S.

Re: CNN/ORC poll: Majority of Americans oppose Netanyahu invite [W:218]

It is inhabited by Jews. There is no other reason. Absolutely no other reason.

But that makes no sense because most American Jews are democrats. Out of 30 Jews in Congress, 29 are democrats.

You know you have a very good point. The few. But I think that even as this poll would indicate, as well as other polls regarding Israel, Americans are migrating, albeit slowly, away from the long term position of basically unconditional support. And, it's questionable that even strident supporters of Israel, can't handle a bit of scrutiny and criticism, for nobodies always good, or right. And of course the opposite would stand.

Re: CNN/ORC poll: Majority of Americans oppose Netanyahu invite [W:218]

The big deal is Obama is about to go chummy with Iran and that's going to start a ME arms race. Obama's too stuck on his stupid with foreign policy to see the fail train and Bibi's gonna mess his little party up.

They really don't care. Like-minded misfits will somehow gravitate to each other and use whatever means they can to justify their bent leanings. ISIS does the same through the Internet.
