I'm fine with it.. even if all things were reversed.

i'm not under the delusion that he President needs to give permission to Congress to do their jobs.

as for Boner striking back... sure thing, I do think he was striking back at Obama for trying to bully Congress...Boner should strike back at Obama for trying to bully Congress, no doubt about it.

now, other than Obamas butt being hurt, there is no downside to any of this ... Congress should hear what bibi has to say... they are charged with legislating sanctions, and Israel is an integral part of the issue.... they would be negligent not to hear him.

The more obvious and simple explanation is that Netanyahu opposes the backroom Iranian nukes deal your messiah is trying to push with his executive action, end-around, avoidance of Congressional input and sees this as an opportunity to help put the situation into perspective.

The only Americans who seem to have a problem with the leader of our most staunch ally in the Middle East sharing his thoughts on a pending executive action “treaty” with our most avid enemy in the Middle East are leftists like you who put party loyalty before loyalty to country and who hate free speech from anyone but leftists and anti-Americans.

Obviously it has nothing to do with the fact that the ANNOINTED ONE is working on another ill-advised extra-constitutional treaty with one of our worst enemies and that this issue might actually garner enough bipartisan support to overturn an ANNOINTED ONE veto as a result of Netanyahu’s speech. Obviously this is all about the Israeli election because the ANNOINTED ONE says it is. When will you stop drinking the Kool-Aid and start thinking more critically Deuce?

Well that's just it, foreign policy isn't their job. Figured you'd know that.

Hate to break it to you but foreign policy IS their job. Only Congress can declare war, treaties must be ratified by senate, funding for everything etc. get a clue!

I'm still waiting for him to explain his "unconstitutional" claim...Guess he just ignores what is inconvenient for him to answer....Typical.

It has escaped you that those powers have been subjugated to the president. Of the last 25 wars the US has fought, which one was declared by congress? It would seem that the constitution is just a god damn piece of paper, to be trotted out when expedient. There's theory, and there's practice.

Have you seen Leon Panetta testifying before congress that the Pentagon will seek authority to go to war from the UN, and then they will inform congress of their intentions.

in the context of this thread... only Congress can levy sanctions... sanctions are levied by legislation, and we all know where the sole power to legislate resides.

    this is civics 101 stuff.

I am pleased most Americans apparently oppose Natan-what's-his-guts (*cough*warcriminal) addressing Congress.

But most Americans voted to re-elect both GW Bush AND Obama...so most Americans are political morons.

In the context of this thread, the constitution gives the president the clear upper hand on foreign policy. And as such should be consulted before actions are taken. It's not a permission thing as much as a procedural thing. Who doesn't know that JB was giving Obama the gaff on this.
