The cost of living is not a single number.

    Thanks, Obama.

No ****, The cost of living varies from region to region, from state to state and city to city. It would be impossible for an individual to cover the basics here in Chi-town (Rent, public transportation money and basic food) on anything less than $10 an hour.
Give a man a fish and he can eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he can sit in a boat, drinking beer all day while you fool around with his Woman.

Then why did you ask for the "cost of living" number ???

Wait, let me guess.... you were trying to make a point and failed miserably.

I think the crowing about Walmart's capitulation is rather premature. Will you still crow if Walmart starts laying off employees within the next year?

I find it funny when the spread the wealth crowd is happier with one employee making $10 an hour than they are with two employees making $7.

Again, what is the cost of living where you live? What would be the bare minimum amount of money that an individual would need to pay for bare bones basic every day needs?

To many variables to claim a single number.

I think you are in agreeance with sangha (and myself).

No right winger I know believes any such thing. I would say as a general rule right wingers know far more about how businesses operate than left wingers.
They do that all the time when they make the claim that all increases in costs are passed on to the consumer and when they claim that lower costs automatically mean lower prices.

But I'm glad that you agree that prices are set by competitive pressures.
