On Friday afternoon, Gov. John Kitzhaber of Oregon resigned, and the Oregon secretary of state Kate Brown, also a Democrat, became the state governor. In an instant, Oregon had the first openly bisexual governor in American history.

For many of Gov. Brown’s constituents, this may mean little, because she is married to a man, and has been for many years. The adjective becomes easy to explain away, then; bisexuality is often dismissed as something made up, a risqué adolescent antic, something college girls do to impress boys. Last January, Lisa Diamond, a scholar of sexual orientation, told the reporter Michael Schulman that many people feel bisexuality “is a transitional stage or a form of being in the closet,” but that in fact it’s more common than strictly same-sex attraction.
A married practicing bisexual is committing adultery and that in turn calls their integrity into question and undermines their trustworthiness to hold office.

How so? Can you please provide some examples?

Did he mean that she supports SSM?

What about all the straight politicians, including governors, that support SSM?

If that's what he meant it makes no sense.

See, this is exactly why the issue is so fubar.
Climate, changes. It takes a particularly uneducated population to buy into the idea that it's their fault climate is changing and further political solutions can fix it.

I don't care if she's bisexual, likes to be tied up with iPhone charger cords, licked Magic Shell off Bruce Jenner's flowing locks, or screams out her dog's name during sex. Why do we ever need to know someone's bedroom preferences?

Bi-sexuality exists within the range of sexual orientations.

    Sex is an act.

Do you have anything to indicate she is a "practicing bisexual" and is having sexual relations outside of marriage?

A Priest can be heterosexual and choose a life of celibacy, just because he doesn't perform a sex act doesn't mean he isn't heterosexual.

If she's only having sex with the person she's married to then her 'bisexuality' is nothing more than immaterial feelings with no literally real manifestation in the world. That her bisexuality an issue for discussion means there's real-world behavior bringing the subject to light.
