Although Newton's theory has been superseded, most modern non-relativistic gravitational calculations are still made using Newton's theory because it is a much simpler theory to work with than general relativity, and gives sufficiently accurate results for most applications involving sufficiently small masses, speeds and energies.

The anti evolutionists throwing out the old stupid argument about "its a theory" don't know what a scientific theory is.

But, that is all they have. The scientists have the data, and the fossils and the volumes of research, observations and studies.

No, they are thinking that it shows that he is politically oriented, but uninterested in academics for it's own sake. Apparently he also came in late to French Class on a regular basis (I know, I know... how could we all have been so blind to the true, degraded nature of the man?).

    Yup. That'd be the case.

Not as much impact and / or influence as you'd like to believe.

It's little more than a liberal / progressive missive thrown over the wall at anyone who disagrees or believes differently than the thrower of said missive, regardless of how pertinent it is to anything, which it's generally not. A mechanism for the thrower to maintain their delusional superiority complex and facade, which often has massive hypocritical cracks in it, and is tentative at best, just so long as everyone else believes it, the underlying reality is inconsequential in their minds. So SOP.

He's simply doing what all politicians do--trying to thread the needle between all the conflicting wings of the GOP.
A much more challenging thing to do in the GOP with regard to science.
I agree - I wouldn't ever vote for Walker, but understand he's just doing what politicians always do. It's more a reflection on the GOP base than anything. It shouldn't be an issue for a candidate for office to support the views of about 99% or so of scientists, but it is, and so he's trying to avoid controversy.

Yet HRC will have her own needles to thread--especially on foreign policy as we saw with DEMs bucking Obama today on troops on the ground.
A healthy debate of the ISSUES is needed in both parties.

The science debate is one that will challenge the GOP .
True enough - the liberal base isn't enthusiastic for Hillary, and foreign policy is just one area where she'll have to find a way to get their support without alienating the rest of the country.

Quite right. But I'd like to point out that it is a 'Scientific Theory' and as such, holds a stronger and more solid a foundation than the general use of 'theory'.

Also, it's become a generally accepted Scientific Theory by the vast majority of those in the field, so safe enough to accept it as one step away from fact. With the theory of evolution, the time spans to observe it in action are generally longer than a human life span, but, that being said, evolution has been observed to some extent in faster generation species, such as fruit flies and bacteria, which again strengthen the factual foundation for the scientific theory of evolution.

So don't let the 'theory' part of the name throw you too far. It's not what it appears that you think it is.

LOL You are right. A mentally handicapped person is Constitutionally eligible but qualified is another matter.

Wow, you dig that up from wiki?

Its a theory, and a decent one. Some believe that random luck made chaos settle into order. Some belive that order had guidance. I can see both sides and why people would believe either way.
Climate, changes. It takes a particularly uneducated population to buy into the idea that it's their fault climate is changing and further political solutions can fix it.

You left out DNA which proved once and for all that humans are closely related to chimps and apes and evolved from a common ancestor. DNA is not a "theory" by the way. DNA is the crux of evolutionary "theory" today and those that don't believe it are clueless.
