[QUOTE]In a speech given at a Pontifical Academy of Sciences ceremony unveiling a bust of his predecessor, Pope-emeritus Benedict XVI, Pope Francis declared his full-fledged support of evolution as the scientifically correct explanation of the origin of man — and the universe.
“Evolution in nature is not inconsistent with the notion of creation,” Pope Francis argued at the Academicians’ plenary meeting titled “Evolving Concepts of Nature,” which took place October 24-28. “The scientist must [nevertheless] be moved by a trust in the idea that nature hides, within her evolutionary mechanisms, potentialities that it is the task of intellect and freedom to discover and actuate, in order to achieve the [kind of] development that is in the design of the Creator.”

Pope Francis made his staunch support of Darwinian evolution over the Genesis account of creation very clear, backing the Roman Catholic Church’s long-established endorsement of the controversial theory.

Wow...it sure is hard for you to simply admit that Scott Walker can maintain a Christian belief and still believe in 'science'.

Scott Walker is a protégé of the multi-BILLIONAIRE Koch brothers, as are Christie, and Jindal, who are trying to manipulate American policy by selecting "YES" men who are ultra-ambitious for political power and wealth. Therefore, in Walker's desire to get the US nomination for President he is walking a tightrope, refusing to open his mouth for fear of saying the wrong thing that will make him look the fool. He saw what happened to Bobby Jindal, the big mouth governor from Alabama, Chris Christie, governor of New Jersey, and lastly, in 2012, Mitt Romney, former governor of Massachusetts. It's not that these governors do not know the answer to these questions..... they are afraid if it comes out sounding wrong in their visit to the UK they will be ridiculed back home and end up looking like a buffoon. Therein lie the problem, fear of sounding dumb...fear of displeasing their sponsors and losing their chance at the Nomination for president of the US.
Ried's got you salivating when the bells rung don't he?

That would destroy a narrative, a sacred cow.

Except that wasn't the question he was asked. He was asked if he believes in evolution and he could not say YES. The Pope can but not him. What does that say about him? Either he is dim witted or a religious zealot, nether of which are suitable for the POTUS.

I think Walker just kissed his chance for the nomination, goodbye.
In my personal opinion, Scott Walker doesn't have any chance of becoming president of the US. He might appeal to the ultra-rightwing Republicans but in 2016 when more mainstream Americans cast their vote he would not stand a snow ball's chance in hell. Walker is against the Unions and it was through the Unions that the middle class began to grow and prosper. Scott Walker is currently the governor of Wisconsin where many union members tried their best to repeal his governorship; by hook and crook, manipulating the votes, Walker retained his office. I am not in Wisconsin, but what I've read of this crook, there is no way he has a chance of becoming president of the US.

He chose not to get into a question and answer period with the press while addressing an audience for commerce. Period. But give people that hate republicans beyond reason...any excuse will do.

Union membership collapses when it doesn't have state laws enforcing closed shops... why is that?

Walker has won 3 elections in 4 years and none of them were all that close.

The facts do not at all align with your hyper partisan drivel. He's Governor of Wisconsin because the people of Wisconsin want it that way.

A presidential candidate attacking another presidential candidate over his foreign policy experience? Say it ain't so.

If Walker gets the nomination, one of the most divisive issues will be his ending of collective bargaining for public unions.
Did he ban unions or did he ban closed shops?

I recognize your anti-union feelings and can only wonder how you would feel if you had one of those jobs .
I am not anti-union.What I am is anti-closed shops. I fully support your right to join a union and I fully support your right to not have to join a union and to not pay dues to a union you are not part of.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

    Cicero Marcus Tullius
