Nice dodge. Were Obamas resposes 'unscientific'? Does he not believe in science?

I agree it was ABSOLUTELY off base to pose the questions they did to Walker while he was there on a commerce trip. Obama was at a candidate forum. Walker was at a business meeting. Walker was not there representing a church, nor was he there representing the State Department.

What would your response have been had Walker said "I think the president has been horribly inept and wishy washy with regard to his 6 years of Foreign Policy. I think his inaction and often cowardice strengthens our enemies and I believe his supporters also further embolden our enemies."?

Be honest....you would have **** yourself in your rush to post a thread condemning a state governor for disparaging the leader of the country on a global stage.

Now, whether it happened exactly as we might understand it reading the text of the Bible. That, I don't presume to know."

    Of course...CNN could be lying.

And I would say "Do you believe humans and apes are close relatives that evolved from a common ancestor?" That is what determines your belief in evolution. You must believe that man evolved on Earth from lower animals or you are a creationist. That is what is important and shapes your view of the Earth as our home. IMO people who believed God "poofed" us here and then made animals for our use have no place in Govt. or modern society. Their views on everything from global warming to human suffering are all tainted from that false and ridiculous belief.

It wasnt a personal attack, it was an observation. If Walker hasnt done much why was all the energy wasted trying to vote him down. If he hasnt done much, why all the wailing and gnashing of teeth? Walkers reforms have saved school districts money and improved the economy in Wisconsin.

If you cannot handle discussion that disagrees with you perhaps this isnt the right venue for you.
Climate, changes. It takes a particularly uneducated population to buy into the idea that it's their fault climate is changing and further political solutions can fix it.

What if that question was asked of Obama at a press conference about the economy? Would you find it wrong that an reporter chose to derail the subject with a religion-vs-science question?

There is the double standard in that Democrats who are Christian get the benefit of the doubt and are rarely, if ever, subjected to "gotcha" questions like this.

And we see the left's intolerance for people who beliefs are even slightly different than their own on display right here.

So what part of presidential duties makes anyone who has doubts about the theory of evolution or other spiritual beliefs incapable of discharging? Anything at all?

I'd expect a president, or any elected official for that matter, to lead, to organize, to hold people accountable, to grasp the issues and boil them down, to make the hard choices, and to effectively communicate the issues and reasoning behind the decisions effectively. I see none of that encumbered here.

Im not asking about your recent family get-togethers...I'm asking a very straightforward question. Is Obamas expressed belief in God and the Creation as essentially and fundamentally expressed in the bible subject to ridicule? Does it make him 'unscientific'? Does his expressed Christian belief necessitate that he NOT believe in science?

Because if you believe that God "poofed" us here as humans and then made the animals and plants for our use it taints every aspect of your world view in a distorted and false way. You at least need to be able to grasp the proven fact that the human race is an animal that evolved here on Earth from lower forms and is closely related to apes if you are to have a chance at reasoning the right decisions on complex issues affecting all of us. We don't want the answer to our problems to be "its out of our hands, let God take care of it". As Gov. Perry has been known to do on occasion.

No dodge. In fact when I was Christian that would have pretty much been my answer. I could never jump into the whole biblical inerrancy thing. Probably most Christians don't. I'm pleased to hear that Obama answered the question as best he could. He was/is struggling with his own belief in a logical answer that isn't, "yes, everything in the bible is true, people lived with dinosaurs, the earth is 6,000 years old, and God got another man's wife pregnant".

In addition, Obama was experiencing relentless accusations from crazy people demanding that he admit that he was a Muslim.

No matter, as I said in a previous post I didn't vote for Obama. I didn't and don't hang on every possible thing he may have uttered to prove that he is a horrible person. There are thus many things Obama has said of which I am unaware.

I agree it was ABSOLUTELY off base to pose the questions they did to Walker while he was there on a commerce trip. Obama was at a candidate forum. Walker was at a business meeting. Walker was not there representing a church, nor was he there representing the State Department.
Fine. The Brits certainly felt that the question was not off base judging from their reported response to his answers. A hell of a lot of Americans likely agree. Once again, it means nothing to me personally. I have many reasons for not supporting Walker, his inability to handle obvious questions in London mean nothing to me.

What would your response have been had Walker said "I think the president has been horribly inept and wishy washy with regard to his 6 years of Foreign Policy. I think his inaction and often cowardice strengthens our enemies and I believe his supporters also further embolden our enemies."?

I have no idea and neither do you.
