Signs, signs everywhere there's signs.

I don't see a badge at 2:10 I see him point to where he keeps it.

This badge:

Was not there. it shiny.

Thats the badge of a NC ALE Agent...

Not to be confused with a County ABC Law Enforcement Officer (yes they are two totally different things, that do the same thing... one has county, one has state jurisdiction)

They both have a lot of powers.

Interesting they call it 'iced' tea. Round here it's ice tea.

Back to the topic, most issues with cops can be avoided by simple cooperation and compliance.

The can says "iced."

I don't care if there's signs. The officer did not properly identify himself, which is a prerequisite to issuing any orders that could be considered lawful.

Funny, I distinctly heard him say he was the police and saw his badge later on. He wasn't a street cop so, don't know if he was being cordial or not. [these are the same guys who send in teenagers to catch people selling alcohol to minor so,they sneaky}

The guy filming started threatening lawsuit right off the bat so, I'm pretty sure he figured it out.

Prove it.
He said he was a cop and he showed his badge. Show that isn't sufficient.

You mean besides the fact that the judge threw out the case?

Your reply is lame. That is not proof, let alone evidence that he did not or inadequately ID'd himself. Especially as he did.
Do you really not know that?

Alright, this was unconstitutional... now what? Can we get to the bottom of why a guy dressed in normal clothes can arrest you just by saying he is a cop? If he had punched this guy out, would he have been defending himself or assaulting an officer? Is saying that he's an officer all it takes for someone to simply do as he says?

It was ruled "fruit of the poisonous tree" meaning that the 'cop' was in the wrong.

Badges different? it's a rather irrelevant point though as whatever "badge" it was, if it was there, it only made a milisecond of an appearance at waste level.

Let me ask you honsetly.

Would you tell your wife, daughter, sister, or girlfriend that if a man claiming to be a cop came up to them and claimed to be a cop but wouldn't show them his badge for more than a milisecond on his hip, and wanted to put them in handcuffs, would you tell them to submit or resist, flee?

I wonder what Caine or any other LE's/former LE's think of that identification,.

Honestly the most legit way for an LEO to ID himself isn't with a shiny piece of metal.

Most department's badges aren't customized to that officer. So it could have been stolen.

The BEST way to ID is with their Police Identification Card, which includes Officer's (Badge/Code #), Employee ID, Photograph, Name, Date they Started, etc.

Many departments don't even have numbered badges. Just a piece of metal, no two are different.

I agree the badges are often easilly faked, in fact I think many officers carry a fake one so they don't loose thier real one or somesuch. my point in asking though, is that in that scenario, at least for me, and where I am from, I would not have believed him to be what he claimed when he did the whole 1 sec flash thing.

And I assuredly would tell the womenfolk in my life to never go with a person like this or let him handcuff them. Ask for a supervisor, etc at minimum.

Considering it was iced tea and he bought it there, I'd say that neither of those signs apply.

Looked like they were loitering to me. [and having a video session] Those parking spaces are for in-going customers. That's up to the store owner/operator, of course.

You could make a case for loitering, but you're assuming that it was somehow "banned." Even so, usually that can be cleared up by asking people to move along and no arrest.

The judge found that there was no reason to arrest him, which means that in the judge's opinion no law was broken.

Wouldn't matter what they think.
You have to show it wasn't sufficient and you can't.
It was sufficient.
It can be seen that even those involved knew it was.

The cop did ask him to leave. He refused.
