Exclusive: Secret tapes undermine Hillary Clinton on Libyan war[W:292]

No she admitted to feeling responsible. However the committee found she followed state dept. policy. So no, still wrong doing.

So true, total incompetence is NOT a crime. Just what we want in the WH.

So wait this committee that all these republicans were so focused on, so sure that there is going to be found something that proves that Hillary or Obama, or the whole executive branch did something wrong, found that they did nothing wrong? Now its "psshh forget them, they are puppets, here is the real investigation committee". You guys are hilarious

More of the dance of the liberal. The committee was tasked with certain charges. They carried those out. You can not extend those beyond the scope of the investigation.

The good news is things will be easier to investigate with the new congress. Something about elections having consequences. :2wave:

The GOP is in a stronger place than it has been in perhaps over 100 years, and by the end of Obama's term people are going to be even more tired of the spin and blame than they are today. Beyond that history shows its exceedingly difficult to win 3 consecutive elections.

I expect the GOP primary to be lively, with lots of contenders because the winner will likely be potus. All of this, while Clintons true colors come out.

The Public is not going to give the Republicans both Houses and the White House. Besides FoxNews will screw it up for the Republicans just like they did in the last two elections.

Was Eisenhower a Democrat? It was President Eisenhower's 'domino theory' which first led to U.S. entanglement in Vietnam.

Lets give credit where it's due.

True, but US soldiers did not start filling body bags from hostile actions until JFK started to put them in conflict as 'advisers'. Then LBJ.........

I totally agree with that. The majority of this country now wants and expects free sh*t from the government........ they will always vote for the promise of a handout, ie a Conservative will never win the WH again.

Yes lets...
The Kennedy administration remained essentially committed to the Cold War foreign policy inherited from the Truman and Eisenhower administrations. In 1961, the U.S. had 50,000 troops based in Korea, and Kennedy faced a three-part crisis – the failure of the Bay of Pigs Invasion, the construction of the Berlin Wall, and a negotiated settlement between the pro-Western government of Laos and the Pathet Lao communist movement.[149] These crises made Kennedy believe that another failure on the part of the United States to gain control and stop communist expansion would fatally damage U.S. credibility with its allies and his own reputation. Kennedy was thus determined to "draw a line in the sand" and prevent a communist victory in Vietnam. He told James Reston of The New York Times immediately after his Vienna meeting with Khrushchev, "Now we have a problem making our power credible and Vietnam looks like the place."[150][151]
Vietnam War - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

On 24 November 1963, Johnson said, "the battle against communism... must be joined... with strength and determination."[173] The pledge came at a time when the situation in South Vietnam was deteriorating, especially in places like the Mekong Delta, because of the recent coup against Diệm.[174] Johnson had reversed Kennedy's disengagement policy from Vietnam in withdrawing 1,000 troops by the end of 1963 (NSAM 263 on 11 October),[175] with his own NSAM 273 (26 November)[176][177] to expand the war.

So, who is responsible for starting the war-the democrats who went in or the former republican potus that did not?

The Public is not going to give the Republicans both Houses and the White House. Besides FoxNews will screw it up for the Republicans just like they did in the last two elections.

Lets find out together. Besides, with more and more of the failings of Clinton becoming apparent, she's making herself quite defeatable. :2wave:

I hope that you are wrong about a Conservative in the WH. That said, as a conservative I will continue on regardless.

The colonial French, who created the mess in Vietnam, are responsible.

AMEN!!!!! Ho Chi just wanted a free VN. The US armed Ho Chi during WW2 to help defend/put down Japanese aggression in SE Asia. In return Ho Chi requested US support to remove the French from VN. And the US sided with the spineless French, and Ho Chi went to and received communist support. The rest is history. Other than the Revolutionary war, what good has ever come from our alliance with the French?,.....I am sure there is some good things....please remind me.

The French kicked it off when they made Vietnam a French colony. They deserve the lion's share of the credit.

Until just recently, historical perspective, The French (and British) were the most sadistic and brutal colonializers this world has ever known, and the US liberal left want to be just like them. Go figure.

I hope you are wrong about this nations remaining time. But many of the signs are there-weve seen them in other pinnacle nations before-its well studied.

Dark days are ahead, I fear. Just today at work we were discussing Obama and not a person there, even the wide eyed lefties hesitated a moment to say this is the worst things have ever been. In context, its remarkable how destructive leftism has been in just 50 or so years.
Some of the deadliest diseases are very slow onset, and by the time signs manifest the damage has been done.

But I plan to fight for this place.

I was qualified in that less time and I did not infer necessarily a cost/tax cutting conservative, but a communicator who can bring a nation together. I recall those years vividly, Vietnam had closed badly, with shots of what appeared to be American soldiers fleeing the enemy with people clinging to helicopter rails, the resignation of a sitting president, a foul mouthed criminal as head of state, the Ford years, and...the cold era, with Jimmy huddled by a "faar" with a sweater on trying to convince Americans they weren't going to freeze in the dark and never mind the bodies of American soldiers rotting in a godforsaken desert.

Depressed and at sea, a nation divided and as now, blaming each other while appearing to be losing the arms race to Russia.

When Reagan surfaced my first thought was where is Sirhan Sirhan when we need him, recalling the weeks after Kent Stats and Reagan's gunslinger stance. Surprise, he won the nomination then, a clear 48 state victory; even admitting Jimmy was a clone, that was impressive. He eventually earned my respect, as I saw a nation coming together again, being great and a little annoying again. The un-settledness of my father and family was gone.

That's whats needed. What will bring unity - which should now be the first identified goal - is not rhetoric, but success. You guys need what we used to call in hockey an "ego shift", where finally everything goes right and you actually accomplish an objective, even if it was to block a shot by falling down. You need a win. There hasn't been a clear one in ages, not after the gleam came off the invasion of Iraq, and Obama has done nothing to even show the trend can be reversed, you're still playing in your own end and trailing by 3. You need a sniper, a guy who can either score a pair either himself or "teammates" in this case that would include elected people from the "other side" of the aisle.

Once again, it is war time no matter how they spin it. In war, a house divided cannot stand. The Art of War teaches that the "enemy of my enemy is my friend" and it is time to make friends of what Obama has made "enemies"

And, this time, hold the pricks to account. Whatever you have to do, do it. Out this evening I ran into a former provicial member who used to live here, a "convenient socialist" now married to a film exec....what do you know! I was reminded of a meeting where she spent two hours being grilled, almost harassed over some things she had said etc. And as that thought came to me now I had to wonder if that ever happens in the states anymore, whether when they speak in colleges whether it's staged and tame or whether **** can fly. "cause here? They learned a long time ago you either let us do that or real **** will fly. My first year in the Saskatchewan legislature farmers released a truck load of pigs in the Parliament.

You need that level of "freedom of expression"....

The dems are going to be made to understand that elections have consequences.

We are beginning to see that already. Look at the number of posts whining about what the Republican "majority" is doing to them in congress.

To which I reply, get the KY and remember Harry Reid, 'cause payback is indeed a bitch.

Freedom of expression is what will keep the GOP out of the White House.

"Better days are coming." ~ But not for today's out of touch, running out of time, GOP.

I think that a great communicator will be seen again, we are overdue and they are too few and far between. Its rarely who we think they will be. Our electorate is fine with bread and circuses though. Thats a recipe for a corrupt and inept govt. We get what we deserve.

I think the point was, Reagan was kicked out! Had it been Jimmy Carter that withdrew under those circumstances, there would have been no end to the partisan ridicule. For my part, believing we have no business keeping occupying forces in the ME, I'm glad he withdrew, rather than launching another war. Oh, and I note your glossing over the fact that Reagan had "I'll defended barracks" to begin with. Something you would be deriding any democratic president for allowing. I'm done, go back to your partisan hackery.

I think it a wise man who knows when to withdraw from an impossible to defend position.
I think it a fool who tries to maintain and defend an indefensible position.

From what I recall, from all those years back, was that this Marine barracks was not a well defended installation, and could not reasonable be made so. Wise to withdraw in that case I would think.
