NBC's Tom Brokaw reportedly wants Brian Williams fired over fabricated Iraq helicopter story
Source w/video: NBCs Tom Brokaw reportedly wants Brian Williams fired over fabricated Iraq helicopter story | Fox News

Longtime "NBC Nightly News" anchor Tom Brokaw reportedly wants his successor, Brian Williams, thrown out of the big chair after he admitted fabricating key portions of a story he repeatedly told about his reporting experience during the Iraq War in 2003.

The New York Post, citing sources at the network, reported that Brokaw, 74, has been "making a lot of noise at NBC that a lesser journalist or producer would have been immediately fired or suspended for a false report."
. . . . . .

Yet something tells me he will still vote for Hillary "sniper fire Clinton in 2016. But he is right, Williams should go, if not for the lie itself then for the BS apology he gave.

Beat me to it.

I was going to suggest he run for president.

This sort of outright fabrication from liberals should be no surprise in this day and age....Liberals use the military as props, instead of giving them the respect they deserve....Plus just one more ding in the weekly NBC/MSNBC mistake making apology reel....

Conservatives respect the military by sending them off to die in pointless wars.

Everybody fabricates stories these days, Im not defending Williams (who I think is just another media dweeb) but even Chris Kyle fabricated stories yet people praise him as a hero.

Oh? What stories did Kyle fabricate?

Suspend Williams for a week or two. That would be a just punishment.

This episode has become a feeding frenzy for the right wing as it gives them a long awaited opportunity to go after the hated NBC. I seriously doubt if their idols like Limbaugh or O'Reilly had done something similar they would be drooling for the career death penalty the way they are for Williams.

I swear you just can't make this crap up. It's like some of yall are intent upon being caricatures of yourselves.

As to the thread, I think Brian Williams should quit.

Oh? What stories did Kyle fabricate?
Kyle claims he beat up Jesse Ventura (but Ventura won a libel suit against his estate), he also claimed he killed half a dozen looters by sniping at them from the Superdome after Katrina and he also claimed he killed 2 carjackers trying to rob him in Texas- the cops have no records whatsoever on these allegations.

you would think they would learn after the whole dan rather thing.

dan rather 2.0 coming up.

The problem is we actually still, today, don't have accurate facts about what happened. How far behind was Williams chopper in relation to the CH-47 that was hit by the RPG? Williams, by omission, gives the impression his chopper was right behind the one that got hit, yet, other reports state Williams chopper was 30-60 minutes behind. There is also now conflicting accounts by the supposed pilots... two of them so far. Both admit no RPG yet the one on CNN states that Williams chopper took small arms fire and the other claims Williams chopper was hit by nothing but sand from the sand storm.

Unfortunately, Williams may have caused more confusion with his reported apology given the gaps and lack of facts.

Why? If as you say everyone does it....After all we are all only human right?

No, you made the assertion that "liberals use the military as props". I pointed out the shear absurdity of such a statement considering that the worst examples ever of a president using the military as props was by a Republican. So using the military as props is certainly not something inherit to liberalism.

As to Brian Williams, I think he should quit.

Jessie Ventura is a piece of **** liar...Kyle never claimed to "beat him up", rather that at a gathering in which Ventura was bad mouthing Iraq vets, and current SEAL's, Kyle punched him in the face and that is all....Ventura being the piece of **** liar he is, went after the estate of Kyle even after Kyle's death showing me that he was embarrassed for getting damn near knocked out and wouldn't let it go...He's a loser.

The other two stories, are third hand accounts that Kyle has never told publicly....So, as unverifiable as they are, it wasn't Kyle that spread them....

hence to say, to bring that up in the defense of a live liar, Williams, by using the honor of a dead national hero, is just plain sad...And shameful...

Oh? Would you like to have a pic battle of Obama using military as props...I can tell you this...The military had far more respect in the ranks for Bush, than they do now for Obungle....

True. But Kyle wasn't paid to deliver facts via television. Williams is.

His claimed kills are almost double his confirmed kills, too.

That happens when they cannot be confirmed. Sometimes moving targets are wounded but will probably die depending on where they were hit. Chuck Mawhinney for example has 103 confirmed and 216 probable in Vietnam. It's pretty standard to have a confirmed number and a probable number.

I bet you never padded your resume in the slightest way.

I have no idea what I posted. Williams wasn't interviewing for a job. I'm posting on topic - if you want to engage me, please do the same.

By the way, no, I haven't padded my resume. I don't have any need to.
