Tom Brady owes the IRS over 60 grand for winning Super Bowl.

I agree that government needs money to run, and that people have different perceptions of that. Doesn't mean that if someone perceives that our government isn't spending enough or hasn't put us in enough debt they are correct. They can think what they want, and be very wrong.
"Right or wrong" only exists if there's an objective standard we can hold these things to. Without that we can only state our preferences.

The taxes paid are unfair. Why?

Because he's rich. It's not fair to make rich people pay taxes.

Poor people, though? They definitely should pay more taxes.

That's really convenient if you have a government that is spending like ours and racking up Trillions. It just can't be wrong then.

For it to be right or wrong there'd have to be a consistent, objective consensus as to what obligations the government has and means to achieve them.

We don't have that.

yeah, it's just wrong. He should have to pay more. Back in the old days before ****-heads like Grover Norquist, the rich paid over 50% of their income in income taxes. But thanks to bastards like him and those who follow his lick-spittle groveling before the rich and powerful, the rich pay far less, and we have the debt to show for it.

It must be easy being liberal. You don't have to think about anything.

Those dopey founding fathers, when they wrote the Constitution, income tax wasn't even allowed. But we have much smarter liberals now that know way better that Benjamin Franklin, Monroe, Jefferson, etc... Just look at the federal government now, so much better for us!

Then you have no problem or understanding of the gift tax, the power of the government to target individuals for rates that some see as unreasonable, no understanding of who actually pays taxes and who doesn't, and the amount that HINI already pay the government based on class envy. Please leave me alone.

Not sure about the person you're responding to, but the writer for Americans for Tax Reform in the article cited by the OP didn't understand gift tax, or estate taxes.

That's not quite fair - he might have understood fine, but was just dishonest - it is Norquist's operation after all.
