NATO to bolster forces in eastern Europe against threat from Russia

Ukraine is not going to be able to do jack with Russia militarily without direct U.S. military intervention. Militarily, without direct U.S. intervention, Russia can indeed take Ukraine. THAT IS FACT. UKRAINE IS NOT AFGHANISTAN NOR VIETNAM.
Not yet but they can easily become the new Afghanistan for Russia. A full scale invasion by Russian nis very unlikely as Putin knows it WILL bring NATO into the conflict and that will be the end of Putin. Arming the rebels and providing small amount of forces as he is doing now is the most likely way Putin will go, leading to an Afghanistan or Vietnam type situation.

What is stupid is for the U.S. to think that arming Ukraine will cause the Russian people to remove Putin. They will simply rally around the flag. Man what a stupid idea.
Never said arming Ukraine will get Russians to remove Putin.
Putin`s corruption, endless war, crappy economy etc will be reasons to remove him.

I don't give a damn about that stupid Hilter rhetoric. Hell that's my money that's going to pay for that crap, AND IF IT TURNS INTO A NUCLEAR WAR MY CHILDREN, INCLUDING MY NINE YEAR OLD SON WILL DIE BECAUSE OF SOME STUPID THEORY THAT THE U.S. IS GOING TO CONTAIN RUSSIA PARTLY BY USING UKRAINE.

Over and above that, I am sick and tired of people trying to use the U.S. to fight their stupid little wars. Let them fight their own wars with their own money, own weapons, and own men.

Ahh the old better red than dead argument.
Chamberlain would be proud.

Bottom line. Let Ukraine do what the hell it wants to do. Let Russia do what the hell it wants to do. I don't want my money going to support some stupid crap.

Let other people fight their own wars. It's their skin, not mine.

I don't care who would be proud. I care about MY MONEY AND MY CHILDREN.

Inside their own copuntiers fine, when they atart to attack others then no the world needs to stand up.

If you continue with that attitude then eventually it will be your skin but there will be no one left to help save it.

Thenh you should want evil dicators stopped from trying to take over other coutnries. else eventually it will be yours.
Isolationism didnt work before it wont work now.

And you are so wrong. Russia and no one else has got the nerve to directly challenge the U.S. militarily because they would get their ass kicked. And that's not going to change for generations.

History shows that isolationism is a failed policy.
Always has been always will be.

Well I am starting to come to another conclusion regarding this conflict. The thing is this, sometimes people need to realize they are outgunned and do the needful. It's just like the Palestinians and that stupid ass suicide bombing of innocent people. Sometimes your enemy is just too powerful and you need to consider that. I think Ukraine needs to redo it's calculus perhaps without relying so heavily on the U.S. to bail it out.

Yup best plan in the world surrender because you think the other guy is stronger.
I mean Putin will stop once he gets eastern Ukraine after all.
Bullies are easy to appease, once they get wehat they want they never want any more.
Got any other stupid ideas?

They ain't got to surrender. I'm just saying they need to redo their calculus without relying on the U.S. to bail them out. Maybe that's what's really causing this conflict to drag on. But if it's not, let them use their own money, own weapons, and own men, not ours.

So far they are.
If you think refusing to give them money/arms will somehow make the problem go away, it wont. However Russia ending its support for the rebels will end the situation there fairly quickly.

As would ending our support for Ukraine.

Russia is playing defense.

Putin cannot afford to occupy all of Ukraine. He can barely afford Crimea.

True enough, nor has he expressed any such desire.

How is invading and annexing part of another country legal?

Well, I disagree with you're categorisation of how Russia came to be in control of Crimea.

And even the supreme allied commander of NATO forces has cautioned Western/US supplying Ukraine with lethal weapons on the potential for Russian backlash. You seem eager for another (or at this point isn't it just perpetual) war, this one a proxy with Russia not unlike previous such conflicts. Or do I misunderstand your position on that?

You're right. Putin doesn't care at all about the mayhem he has caused.

Lol, Putin is responsible for those civilians killed in eastern Ukraine by the Ukrainian military.

Yes, just as the world has stood up to the United States as we've been about attacking countries, particularly the ones that have not harmed us.

Yep, Iraq and Libya look so much better, their evil dictators having been stopped.

I don't give a damn who starts a nuclear war, what I care about is that it doesn't happen.

So you don't give a damn if Russia takes every country between the Urals and the Atlantic Ocean? How about the Eastern seaboard of the United States? Is there a point in time where you might be tempted to say 'enough is enough'?

There's actually only one way Imperialistic Dictators can be removed from office. And that's feet first.
