I don't think for a second that ISIS would care about the execution of terrorists held by Jordan. In fact they will celebrate those executed as martyrs to jihad and favored of Allah,....and use it for more recruiting.

It will be interesting how Jordan and The Arab League react to this.

I think burning a man alive inside a cell will be the tipping point. If that had been an American GI tied up in a cage and sat on fire I think it would set off a volcano of pissed off Americans. Right now one would think every Jordanian would like to rain fire onto this group of maggots. This isn't some collateral damage but rather purest evil known. The reaction has to be swift and deadly.

There is a debate going on in another thread about why Christianity spread. Philosophical section. The reason? Martyrdom. Are you willing to die for something bigger? Because they are. That concept is ingrained in humanity. You see the idea from Japan to the native Americans to Europeans and the Arabs. It isn't unique. Why? What more can you give than your life?

So let me ask you. If you are being told you will get 72 pristine and beautiful virgins, and enteral glory, salvation, redemption, and your friends and family were "murdered" by this great foreign enemy...doesn't sound so bad to start killing them does it? The more innocents we catch in the crossfire, which is what direct action will do, the more people will hate US and not THEM.

My idea is to take those who are not players in the game, or may who might chose the wrong team, and give them a little push. Why? That helps us. Not them. We saw Iraq and Afghanistan. Direct action isn't that effective. Isis came right after al Qaeda. Who comes after Isis? This concept that you are promoting is just eternal war. You want to "beat Islam?" You have to change it.

I agree with you completely, which is a sad statement for human kind.

Unfortunately these evil groups appear throughout history and try to exterminate humans that are different in some way. The people they execute happen to be non-Sharia Islamist.

Violence is all they understand, unfortunately. But for the good of humanity, they must understand.

I honestly don't believe that ISIS give a **** if these guys are executed. In fact, I suspect that they HOPE they are executed because you are right in that it is a language they understand. They understand that their brothers in arms will die as martyrs and get 72 virgins.

I don't know what the answer is. I just know that we are dealing with an enemy who does not value human life.
 
Reports here are that al-Rishawi will be executed at dawn.

IS had no intention of sparing the life of the Jordanian fighter pilot if she were released to begin with. He was already dead when they were "negotiating". It was all just a part of their sick game.
