Senate passes bill approving Keystone XL oil pipeline Associated Press By DINA CAPPI

Re: Senate passes bill approving Keystone XL oil pipeline Associated Press By DINA CA

Re-read.....he didn't think he would need to. He didn't think it would pass. Especially after the test vote failed. He thought he had the Demos in line. That's with him coming out and threatening veto to the Repubs. As he surely wasn't talking to those who carry his water.

No I don't act as so.....more than likely I have seen hundreds of vetos passed before you even saw your first one.

I don't think Obama cares at this point.

He is going to veto it.

Re: Senate passes bill approving Keystone XL oil pipeline Associated Press By DINA CA

Yup. The irony is that pipelines are the safest, cleanest way to move the stuff.

Yeah, but then the Demos can't scam as much money off of people then. Can't get their hands into that cookie jar as much. Which you know taking others money is how they get to live comfortably.

He is going to veto it.

We shall see if he has the balls to veto it.

Re: Senate passes bill approving Keystone XL oil pipeline Associated Press By DINA CA

If that's their wish, they will get it. There is no doubt that it will be vetoed. How this is going to affect the 2016 election requires a pretty big stretch. Americans by and large are not passionate over the issue right now. What makes you think they are going to suddenly become passionate over it a year from now?

The unions were for this and they will remember the lost jobs. Look at the democrat state senators that voted for it. Obama is not running in 2016 so he doesn't care who wins.

Of course he is. He has said from the start that it is not Congress's job to approve it and we will not set a precedent. The Reps know it and don't really care if XL ever goes through. They know what Obama wants and they don 't have the power to give it. He wants a comprehensive infrastructure bill.

Oh he cares.....as now he knows. Even some democrats don't care about what he has to say anymore. Which leads him to thinking about future vetoes and democrats that will turn against him.

Its a win win for the people of this nation. As no matter what BO does. He won't be in the Right with this issue.

The Dems who voted for it were in purple States. Besides 4000 30 week jobs are not going to make a bit of difference to the unions.

I think he actually enjoys having everyone against him, he revels in being the political outsider.

If gas prices remain low they won't be. But if, as expected, prices rise back to $3+/gallon it will become a huge election year issue.

As expected it passes the Senate. Now its gonna get a veto and go back. Its gonna easily overcome the 2/3 requirement in the House the big question remains will it overcome the 2/3 in the Senate?

Maybe, the last votes are hard liners, my senators will vote no even though I would prefer a yes.

Making substantial concessions on another issue may swing some no votes to yes

Are you serious? It shows how little you know about politics if you don't understand the "test vote". The test vote was a procedural issue that Republicans thought they would sidestep with enough votes, but they didn't. Democrats always knew that the vote would pass...You need to pay attention a little more.

He wanted to be a compromiser but that didn't work out so what choice dose he have? He's making the best of what he got.

Good luck if you believe for a second that the anti-union Republican party is going to gain union votes over this issue. It would be more likely that Pro-life right-wingers would vote for Democrats because they get upset with the Republicans...in other words, sorry....but it ain't gonna happen.

Purple or not, they jumped ship didn't they? They saw the results of the midterms, and voted the way the purple people wanted for a change.

Are you serious.....it was a marker to see what Demos would break. Now if you can't figure that out then you surely don't have a clue about Politics. You might need to go back and ask your teacher for help, on what is political strategy.

Repubs have historically drawn between one third and two fifths of union votes. Keystone XL might tip that a little more.

Hope is a wonderful thing.

Lets ask Goldman Sachs how much of a political outsider he is.

Stop before you do more damage. You obviously do not understand the first vote that was taken. The only ones hoping that the vote would be anything more than symbolic was the Repubs who thought they had a chance to get the bill through on that vote. Go back and follow the political commentary...the Democrats knew that the Republicans ultimately had enough Democratic votes to get the bill through. I think you might be the only person in America that believed that there was a chance that it wouldn't. Oh well....you probably also believe there is a chance that Obama isn't going to veto the bill, right?

Oh puuuuuleeze spare me the comedy routine. Again.....go ask you teacher about political strategy. Obviously you do not understand the issue at all. If they ever had the Votes. It would have passed long before now.

Re: Senate passes bill approving Keystone XL oil pipeline Associated Press By DINA CA

There are more GOP and Democratic Senators that are for this bill, than long term jobs created by it....

False, and laughably false if you include the increased refinery throughput on the Gulf Coast.
