New York City mayor: 'Don't underestimate this storm'

Pretty sure no one in the affected area will survive.

Didn't human beings survive for tens of thousands of years before anyone even knew what electricity was?

That is a common myth. Until electricity was discovered everyone died every year.

Absolutely. They died from food poisoning because the refrigerators didn't run. Later, the thermos was developed. It wasn't until the mid 1800's that the mystery of how exactly a thermos knew what to keep cold and what to keep hot was unraveled.

Yeah, that discovery upended the common "Witch Theory" to the great relief of witches everywhere.

Good luck to everyone in the area. Be safe and stock up if you still can. Make sure to get all your essentials in one area in case power is out. Nothing worse than trying to find gear you need in the dark.

We already dug shallow graves for most of my neighbors.

I've written a note describing my plans to run away to the Amazon rain forest to seek out gold and other treasure. Then, when I die from the cold and hunger, my dog will dispose of my remains and my family and friends will think I'm still alive out there somewhere in South America

when they think of me, instead of grieving, they will think "Damnit! I wish I was as adventurous as sangha!"

Be safe up there.

On another note, if this was happening in Toledo, it'd barely make the news.

So, I've been watching this storm outside my window for the last few hours. All I have to say is "yuk."

This storm makes that Polar Vortex thing from a year ago sound like a small event.

Possibly 3 FEET of snow in places and wind gusts of around 75 mph? Nasty stuff!

AWESOME! Wish I was there!

it's 72 and sunny here.
...that's all I have to say about that.

as i find myself saying nearly every winter.... good luck, northeasterners.

It'll be a bust if I don't hear tales of cannibalism in the subway on the 10 o'clock news.

Generally speaking, the news doesn't report on everyday events

NYC cops will probably turn their backs on his warning.

Is it wet or does it seem light and fluffy? I think you are getting a different kind than we're going to get here in New England.

Well, it 8pm and so far we haven't gotten much snow.

However, the bulk isn't predicted to fall until later tonight and into tomorrow morning

best wishes to those on the east coast. also,
