    This one, for example:

Valley of the Wolves: Iraq - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Apparently glorifies suicide bombers blowing up American troops in Iraq, and features Billy Zane as an EVVVVIIILLL mustache twirling American commander.
Meh - the things they highlight in that movie as controversial WERE controversial when they happened - even to US citizens. Some were based on real events that took place with individual soldiers who were serving overseas and who ultimately were punished for their wrong-doings according to US law [military or otherwise]. So . . . not like it's offensive to me. *shrug*

I've never seen it, but just knowing what might be in it doesn't really get me mussed up.

It has happened before, but there is nothing to compare it to now.

You could argue the same thing with regard to American Sniper.

Everything shown in the film has happened at some point, even if it didn't necessarily happen to Kyle.

    Edit:

Arguably, it's also kind of silly to respond to the mere - temporary and non-lethal - detaining of a few Turkish commandos (who were, objectively speaking, running around in an American controlled war zone, generally acting shady as Hell, without identifying themselves) with a full fledged terror campaign and suicide bombings. The "hood incident" mentioned above does seems to have been what set the Turkish filmmakers off, originally.

    Well that's my point.
It happened - it was that way [still is that way] so - for those who are all immersed in the controversy - I don't get what their problem is.

They're trying to make it 'all about every one of us' and it's not all about every Muslim . . . it's all about 'every one of THOSE extremists'. Perspective is needed, and perspective is lost.

Sometimes I get the sense that they'd be happier with lies and falsehoods that misrepresent the reality only to spare some feelings. Like - my god - North Korean education standards or some ridiculous tripe.

Yup. Hopefully someone will remind them that in this country they have the right to voice their opposition because of people like Kyle, and that the makers of the movie have the right to ignore it. They are in the business of making movies, not promoting the agenda of any group. Reality is not always sensitive to the needs of the easily offended.

seriously people? they just asked that threats and hate speech directed at Muslims and Arabs and Arab Americans in general be condemned

no ones trying to stop the movie no one is attacking g the 1st amendment no one if trying to force any 1 to do anything

the op kind of proves their point though

Arab Americans are generally not the insurgents in Iraq yet hear they are getting lumped together with them and accused of supporting terrorism

and also attacking the 1st amendment

And besides that, if you want to maintain the culture in which you grew up, then remain in that culture, rather than moving to another place, but trying to change it to what you left. It appears that they want to have their cake and eat it too. Live where they have the freedom to succeed and enjoy the benefits of a western-style democracy, but get offended that we don't show reverence to their religious culture. Sorry, but in this country, nobody's religion is off-limits.

Boy, that would go over like a lead balloon, eh?
I bet a fair number of people on this forum and some hollywood lefties would go nuts talking about how great it was.
Climate, changes. It takes a particularly uneducated population to buy into the idea that it's their fault climate is changing and further political solutions can fix it.
