Well, at least some conservatives are willing to admit that Romney lost because he wasn't the right candidate. Beats all the usual "Obama won because he's black" or "Democrats stole the election" nonsense.

Ok. Well. If that's what you believe, I hope you voted for Romney. Nothing else to discuss.
Why would my vote concern you enough to have any hope for it one way or the other?

    Obama won for several reasons

In 08 it was a combination of Bush Fatigue, McCain's lack of a solid vision, a fawning Press and the novelty of a black candidate that caused blacks to vote in record numbers and caused lots of whites to vote for him so they could tell themselves they were open minded or at least not racist

in 2012 it again was a fawning press, black turnout, combined with an asshole who wrongly taped Romney-and Romney failed to deal with that incident, and the fact lots of born again boneheads stayed home.

I am going to disagree with you here a little bit my friend. I think Obama won in 2012 because at the end of the day he was still the better candidate. Romney made two critical errors in my opinion. 1) He ran from his own financial success. Rather than be proud of his own achievements, he seemed embarrassed by them. He needed a little dose of Donald Trump in his rhetoric. 2) He never gave the average, middle class guy a real reason to vote FOR him. Yes, Romney would fight for the job creators, but he needed a little dose of Santorum populism to appeal to the middle class. Even he seems to recognize this last as he, himself, is sounding the theme this time, but it is probably too late for him.

there is some truth to that. The Obama care lies never got the press hounding that a Republican would have faced

Right. And 3) could easily have been Romneys inability to attack Obama on Obamacare since he had done virtually the same thing in Mass. As you know, I am no fan of Obama. He is a horrible president, but a terrific campaigner and he pulled it out

It doesn't concern me. You've stated your opinion of deployed combat troops, retired seniors, and teenagers working to help put themselves through college. I have no response for someone who feels that way. No use.

the "inability" to attack Obamacare is mainly a function of the fact that most Americans are ignorant about the difference between a federal government of limited enumerated powers and state governments

Correct. It doesn't concern me. I find it interesting. Not many people suggest that seniors who worked their whole lives and then retired are some sort of leech on society.
