Between the birth of my 2ed and 3rd child I miscarried a very malformed at about 20 gestation. If you are referring to me ..than no human was killed violently or otherwise by my donation.
It is impossible to kill a fetus that died a natural death but was not expelled in a timely manner and had to removed by a doctor.
My husband took to the ER because I had early pains and was hoping to stop the labor and have a healthy baby.
They took a pregnancy test and told I no longer pregnant.
When I miscarried I accidentally saw how malformed it was.
My doctor told me even if I carried longer it never would have been viable.
If my body had not miscarried naturally I may very well have needed an abortion to keep from getting a septic infection like the one that killed the lady in Ireland recently.
I will agree though that we aren't doing enough to support these teen fathers taking responsibility, or instilling the values of waiting til real love, and marriage though.
3 of my children were married in their late 20s and they each started their families 1 to 3 years after their marriages.
My older son has remained single.
I am a strong advocate for encouraging using contraceptives if one is sexually active and does not want children.
Birth control especially long term birth control has been the most effective tool for reducing elective abortions.
Historically, the graver consequences of death during childbirth, pregnancy, having a bastard child, back alley abortions, social stigma on men and women...none of those things stopped people from having sex. Not even close. It is ridiculous to think that with much safer options today, men and women would have LESS sex, something that is so enjoyable and creates such intimacy in developing relationships. Certainly more women hope that those encounters lead to relationships more than men.
So 'wishing' that adults will stop having sex is not remotely a realistic option for reducing unwanted and unplanned pregnancy.
How about you leave the fantasies and your judgement behind and move on to a more realistic discussion?
