NEW PORT RICHEY — After kicking a toddler in the head in an apparent effort to wake her up, a child care employee at Kids Stop-N-Play day care in Holiday was arrested and charged with child abuse, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.

Sixteen-month-old Lillian Roan was dotted with bruises when her mother picked her up from the day care Saturday afternoon: one underneath her eye, three on her forehead, and a red, bald patch created when the worker kicked her daughter in the head, Lillian's mother said.

Later that day, Pasco sheriff's deputies arrested Linda K. Klemm, 48, of Tarpon Springs and charged her with child abuse. She was released on $5,000 bail Sunday.

As someone with a kid around the age of the victim, I am absolutely appalled and disgusted, how someone could do something like that I have no idea.

I hope this ****ing bitch gets the maximum penalty that can apply to such a blatant case of child abuse, but even that wouldn't be enough.

Someone so willing to engage in such abuse so casually doesn't deserve to be a part of this society.

That was my college town. Glad I don't live there anymore. Seems like strange/crazy things happen there once a month.

A few things like that - but without video proof, only my suspicion - is why I stopped being a working mom.

What the hell is wrong with people like that??

And why the hell would they choose to work in a daycare???

It takes a special kind of sick mother****er to abuse someone weaker than you....animals, the elderly, children....

In a perfect world, the parents of that child would be granted one hour alone in a room with this bitch to teach her a lesson she would never forget.

How about someone kick this bitch in the head, and see how she likes it. This crap really makes me angry!

To a 16 month old. :doh

I know its mental isn't it.

After having my son... I just don't know how someone can hurt a defenseless kid, how can anyone, as a grown adult, can look at a child and go "I'm going to hurt you, because" is just beyond me.

Takes a special kind of person.

I think parole around the year 2200 seems appropriate. Maybe 2150 if she behaves well.

Unfortunately her punishment will not be any degree of what some here have expressed. It will be a hand slap and forbidden to work with children again.

This is not this woman's first rodeo. I bet other parents are going to be suspicious of past bruises on their kids that they dismissed as simply toddlers falling down while playing.

She is sitting home right now free on bail. If that was my grandchild I seriously believe I would have a hard time obeying the law. And if you did go to jail for splitting her face open from her mouth to her ear you would be held in high esteem by the other prisoners once they found out what you had done.

I'm appalled and disgusted, too. WTH? I'm also concerned about the little boy. Did you notice the little boy in the yellow shirt in upper right corner of the video? He notices and comes to look both times she kicks the child on the floor.

Hooray for videocams.

I work with kids. If someone did something like that where I work, they wouldn't be walking out of the building.
