A Dutch court on Tuesday blocked the extradition of a man accused of having fought against U.S. troops in Afghanistan, saying it could not be ruled out that the CIA had been involved in his torture after his arrest in Pakistan. Dutch court documents showed the suspect, a Dutch-Pakistani dual citizen named Sabir Khan, was tortured after his arrest by Pakistan's ISI security service. He faces charges in New York of conspiracy to commit murder and of supporting al Qaeda.

The court said the Netherlands could not transfer him because Dutch and international law prohibits the extradition of torture victims to countries that played a role in abuse. "This letter does not rule out the possible involvement of the CIA," the court in The Hague said in a statement. "Since it cannot be ruled out that it was the CIA which requested the arrest, the judge again forbids" his extradition.....snip~

Well now.....what do you think of that. They will not extradite a supporter of AQ, and we are not talking about Cheerleading supporter. Fruits of Feinstein's releasing of the Torture Report.....huh? What say ye?

So it begins with the Dutch....

Obama would only wind up releasing him back to Yemen anyway.

Are people still labouring under the delusion that nobody knew until Feinstein's report? Seriously?

Heya Skipper. :2wave: Were the Dutch denying extradition then? Are they now?

We all know that everybody knew, but now they have a verifiable excuse.

Feinstein did us no good. But not explaining, what we were doing and why it was legal and had to be done was at least as bad.

This example of Dutch courage will lead to their own downfall moreso than it will effect American intelligence or the safety of the American people. Now what will the self-destructive Dutch do with this guy?

Heya AG. :2wave: Not to mention, any Terrorists around our people will be coming with the excuse they were tortured. To most authorities.

Heya Skipper. :2wave: Were the Dutch denying extradition then? Are they now?

I don't know. Were they agreeing before, and have changed their minds, or were they not asked until now, but might well have said "No" anyway?

We've all known for years, and many of the torture victims have been saying so for years too. Maybe Fox didn't tell you all?

Well I don't know of any other than Muslim countries.....that were denying extradition of fiscal AQ supporters. So this is going to be an issue if they are going to go with the Hague, on this.

No see, Fox is just a New Source......does Dr Who give you all the highlights from the future?

What difference does it make if they're not extradicted? If they were returned here, BHO would just release them anyway. Maybe the Dutch have just unintentionally done the world a favor! Let them live with their decision... they're closer to the problem of terrorist groups killing people in Europe than we are, and now they look frightened of offending terrorists by handling it this way!

If nothing else we can have our spec ops suicide him where he is. No problem.

Well.....there is a chance their case will last longer than BO. But going forward lets hope others don't do the same.

So the Dutch refuse to extradite him. It is their laws so they have to do what they have to do. What are they going to do now, though, release him into their society?

Absolutely. The democracies need to cooperate during this war on Islamic extremism and the Dutch have shown they would rather handle their own Muslim problem on their own. We'll see how that works out.

BBC News - Dutch court blocks US extradition amid torture claims
Dutch court blocks extradition to US of Dutch-Pakistani terror suspect | Fox News

This story has been around since 2013. They have been denying extradition since 2013. Long before that report came out.

Heya Hatuey. :2wave: From your Link.

The BBC's Hague Correspondent Anna Holligan says the judgement is significant as it appears to acknowledge that the US may have been aware of torture techniques used against suspects overseas - something Washington has always refused to comment on.....snip~

So back then we refused to comment on that. Then sent a letter in Oct. Which now this Judge says the letter isn't good enough. Plus now the admittance by Feinstein to deny on grounds of torture. Is set in stone.

Washington denied in a letter sent to Dutch officials in October in that U.S. authorities were involved in his arrest, but the Dutch court said it was not convinced the CIA had not been involved in his detention.

"This letter does not rule out the possible involvement of the CIA," the court in The Hague said in a statement. "Since it cannot be ruled out that it was the CIA which requested the arrest, the judge again forbids" his extradition....snip~

But like his attorney said.....he will be able to be free there, just not outside that country.

The point was that the dutch were denying extradition before the report came out. There is no way to determine that they would have given the suspect to the US without the report. As such, all we have is that the Dutch have remained consistent in their stance that they won't release suspects if they fear those suspects may be tortured.

I didn't know they started it at all. I just thought it was for this one case. Either way now.....going forward. They have decreed we tortured and by our own admittance. Up until the Feinstein Report and when we sent that letter. We had no comment.

Good afternoon MMC

I have to ask, if the man was in the hands of the Pakistani ISI, how is it that he was not handed over to the US when the Pakistanis were finished with him and how did he manage to find his way to the Netherlands? Seems to me another example of the Pakistanis not being the best of US friends.

Heya CJ. :2wave: I am not sure. The Pakis did arrest him. So they did have him at one time.

So instead of blaming the people that actually did the illegal torturing you blame the people who exposed it? That's some pretty backwards logic there. The responsibility for this hangs solely on the shoulders of the people who tortured detainees and the politicians who approved of it.

Also, considering we actively imprison suspects indefinitely without ever giving them a trial to determine their guilt, the Dutch would be damning him whether he is guilty or not. At least the Dutch seem to have a set of moral standards. We don't care if he's guilty or not we just want blood.

Does refusing to admit your crimes make them non-existent?
