A politically incorrect position would be that evangelical Christianity has a history of anti-education, anti women, anti Gay and spreads ignorance and poverty wherever it appears.
yep. exactly the same. just another fringe extremist group of another religion
include snake handling and pedophilla, too, when it comes to extremist Christian activities. please ask me to prove it
no, these duke students who are denied what Christian students enjoy, access to the bell tower for call for prayer, are islamic practitioners but in no way violating human rightsWell these Islamic practitioners are in the news a great deal for a variety of crimes against human rights. Do we really need another list of recent Islamic atrocities in order to make the point?
but prove me wrong
you do not know what they support other than they follow the islamic teachingsCertainly, but they are part of a group which supports the discrimination of women, Gays, little girls receiving an education, public flogging or death for criticizing Islam, terrorism, and the list goes on.
there is much to be celebrated about their faith, just as there is about Christianity. we should not act against the innocent only because some extremist practitioners of their faith commit unconscionable acts ... true for Muslims and ChristiansRather than making ridiculous comparisons between 'evangelical Christians' and Islam, wouldn't it be wiser to actually take a stand and say that this sort of behavior by Muslims is unacceptable and that Muslims should clean up there own act before any public celebration of their faith is accepted?
