This wasn't about Phyllis, it was about the photos and your contention that this burka idea was an old one. We can see the changes which have come to Egypt and the photos should have made that apparent. If you'd prefer to see the photos on another website i can provide that as well.
Is it your understanding that these graduate women chose to worship in burkas over those intervening years? That there was no religious pressure applied at all?
First off, I did not say the outfit was an old tradition. Why should I? It is not important. Religions not religious practices must be old. It is enough to have the people say they believe.
And as far as the graduates go, I have known girls that wanted to wear headdress and those that did not. But it is not comparable to take a repressive society, when we are talking about how we should handle it in the OECD countries. That sounds like an attempt to deflect the argument.
