I do not like, but fully accept that Zimmerman was acquitted of the murder charges. But the reality is that Zimmerman brought on his own misery - he stalked a kid who was walking in the dark. He did the whole wannabe police thing and was surprised that the kid didn't like being stalked.

Not guilty, sure. Not responsible for his current misery? Hell no.

I remember being stalked (and eventually mugged). I felt someone was behind me, but it was too dark to see. I had no safe avenue to safety. I got closer to my destination and I felt the hand on my soldier. The reality was that I was so freaked by the prior few minutes that if the person that approached me only wanted directions...I believe my response would have been the same. I went nuts on the guy and I got lucky. When he was down on the ground I kicked the **** out of him.

You do not stalk people. Especially in the dark.

But yeah. Zimmerman was not guilty, but personally responsible for his current situation.

I do not think he started it, but his actions provoked the whole situation.

"contributed to",most assuredly.... "provoked", I feel, is a pretty harsh term to use... though it's less harsh than "caused"
a person following you can't be construed as a legitimate provocation to initiate violence...it's a cause of concern, to be sure, but not a provocation for violence.

I feel the same about TM... his actions contributed, as well.

The simple and unavoidable fact is that without Zimmerman's persistent, repeated actions, Martin would still be alive. He would never have even known Z existed.
If Trayvon had a gun then he would have been within his rights to stand his ground with a gun.

Trayvon had a right to defend himself from an aggressor who was following him around his neighborhood.

Regarding GZ, he got his ass kicked. I don't feel bad for him. He deserved it and he seems like he needs another one since he's taken to beating up women lately.

It's not illegal to follow someone through a neighborhood.

I think "provoked" is pretty on point. He followed around TM both in and out of his vehicle. And yeah, TM should have run home with his tail between his legs and called the police to tell them of a friggen stalker.

It's not illegal for you to stand on a chair in a restaurant and try to look down my wife's blouse. But if you get up to go use the restroom don't be surprized if the restroom light gets flicked off and you receive a boot up your ass.

Forget the legalities, just use some common sense.
