Sounds like quite a party.

Only if you are excited about it, you might prematurely explode before the boner has been eradicated...

Boehner will muster enough votes to keep his speakership. But the number of votes growing against him is still telling. Those representatives who are growing in opposition to Boehner are a direct result of the constituents they serve. And it is telling. What McConnell may be able to muster up in the Senate in the name of Republican Establishment and their unholy alliance with the Chamber of Commerce isn't going to be so easily accomplished in the House.

The vote is tomorrow:

In principle the conservative wing of the Republican party feels like they need a new leader. In reality, it will only be a protest vote by a few but growing disenfranchised party members. Will they upset history?

Congress Could Make History for the First Time Since 1923

Greetings, ModerateGOP. :2wave:

This is not the time to upset the apple cart! There are ways to ensure a united front is presented to the public! Use them! Sheesh!

Rep Steve King from Iowa said that most conservative lawmakers were with him back in 2010 by wanting to abolish Obamacare, and Rep. King believes that John Boehner prevented it from happening.

What will be interesting to see is if the GOP will do what they say and believe in or put on the usual show.

Heya V. There is only one in the House that could run against Boehner and have a chance at winning. That is Jeb Henserling. Once he threw his support behind Boehner.....it was a done deal. The rest were the same Tea Partiers that wanted Boehner out with the vote for all of the Leadership are the same from last year.

Conservatives have long been pressuring Hensarling to seek a leadership spot in November, when Republican officials will hold their regularly scheduled elections for positions in the next Congress. Those members pounced when Eric Cantor unexpectedly lost his primary last week, pleading with Hensarling to run for majority leader right then and there. He said he would "prayerfully" consider doing so, but friends of the Financial Services chairman knew he wouldn't bite.

In truth, Hensarling allies explain, he had been taking seriously the encouragement to run in November. But he needed to go through an exhaustive process—meeting with advisers and colleagues to discuss strategy, and more important, discussing the decision with his family. That process, Hensarling always thought, would not need to commence until late summer or early fall. Hensarling is the target, and conservatives have played the long game in luring him toward a leadership battle. They have applied soft yet steady pressure, letting the Texan know that he's got plenty of time to decide, but that he's their No. 1 choice. The recruiters are so serious that they regularly reach out to Hensarling's mentor, former Sen. Phil Gramm, hoping he can talk Hensarling into a leadership bid.....snip~

The right winger nutjobs should support Nancy Pelosi for Speaker. That'll teach people about not being conservative enough.

I've heard more than Hensarling being dropped. Gowdy was another with a number of supporters. Look the point here is there are a good number of Republican constituents who are not happy with Boehner and the number is rising. And I don't blame them.

He will keep the position, as he should. I don't think changing leadership now would be as terrible of an idea as it was before the last election, but it's only wise if you pick someone that's a good one-two punch with Mitch.

Otherwise it's useless ideological pretentiousness.

You don't want some guy who's going to tank something just because it doesn't sit right with the yahoos in the House.

That's true.....but Gowdy backs Henserling.

If the Tea Party wants to make Ripples.....then I suggest they start going after anything that comes out of the mouth from the left. That's when the left is talking with cameras on them. Start forcing them to answer up on the spot.

Also if they are freshmen.....go after the MS media reporters journalists and the questions they come up with for the left. Help them to NOT forget what the left has said, and as well as what they missed.

Which as you know when it comes to the left.....there is always a lot that is missing. Not surprising.....so it should be used.

I live about 5 miles from the start of Boehner's district. SOme of my more conservative friends think JB is too easy on Obama and the Dems. Some of my liberal friends think JB is too obstructionist. that suggests to me he's doing a decent job in a position where its hard to please people

I suspect he's gonna win easily and some of those voting against him are doing that to pander to their tea party hysterics

Boehner's strong support of Scalise has muted any rallies from the TEA party rightists .

Yeah Fiddy, it was pretty much decided last year.

"This was our best shot to change leadership—not November," said Rep. Justin Amash, who voted against Boehner in 2013 and whose closest friend in Congress, Rep. Raul Labrador, lost to McCarthy on Thursday.

For "movement" conservatives—those aligned with the tea party and grassroots advocacy groups—the search for a candidate to vault into the top tier of House Republican leadership always narrows to two lawmakers: Hensarling and Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio. Both are considered ideologically pure. Both are former chairmen of the Republican Study Committee. And both are respected throughout the House GOP......snip~

Amash was lucky to win his primary against a RINO.
His days are numbered .

When trying to call someone out.....don't tremble and then don't make up **** with your paint brush. As politically.....you can't even compete. That's where you stand around here!

Since what I brought was the truth, you flung your usual steaming pile of dung .

I thought Boehner was a conservative, a serious conservative, one of the "hell NO" conservatives .

You weren't even close to the truth, especially trying to paint somebody out. Oh and there isn't any high ground for you and all that nonsense you bring to most threads. Once in a while you might actually get something politically Right. That's about it..... Most any other time, you don't even have a clue as to what you are talking about. Nor who you say **** too.

You just thought you take a shot thinking I would let it go. But the real truth is.....I leave a blueprint from my Right leaning brethren. On how to deal with those that bring BS like you always do.

Anytime you play wannabe.....you let me know.

WASHINGTON—House Republicans re-elected John Boehner (R., Ohio) for a third term as House speaker on Tuesday over the objections of a band of frustrated conservatives lobbying for a new leader.

Mr. Boehner, 65 years old, faced more opposition from his party’s right flank than in years past, but not enough to oust him...

She's eager to push him away as quickly as possible.

He seems to want to bash her head with that gavel. :lamo
