Former Arkansas governor and television personality Mike Huckabee announced Saturday night that he is leaving Fox News as he weighs a potential presidential run in 2016.
"There has been a great deal of speculation as to whether I would run for president. I won't make a decision about running until late in the spring of 2015, but the continued chatter has put Fox News into a position that is not fair to them," Huckabee wrote on his Facebook page. The honorable thing to do at this point is to end my tenure here at Fox so I can openly talk with potential donors and supporters and gauge support.

"I feel compelled to ascertain if the support exists strongly enough for another presidential run. So as we say in television, stay tuned!" he added.

Huckabee left FOX News today, looks like he'll be running for the POTUS position in 2016.

So Fox now has room for that Katie Pavlich show that everyone wants so very badly. That is awesome.

this must be the Fox News Guy presidential candidate run. I kid Mike -he's a talented bass player.
Word of advice: stick to the music and show Mike. I'm sorry this isn't serious politics it's a side show

He seems to be a decent fellow and might be a good cabinet appointment, but an avowed creationist cannot be President.

Someone just posted that there was no way an avowed creationist could be POTUS. Guess it got deleted, probably because someone figured out quite a few avowed creationist have been POTUS.:doh

That was then. This is now.

"I have opponents in this race who do not want to change the Constitution," Huckabee told a Michigan audience on Monday. "But I believe it's a lot easier to change the Constitution than it would be to change the word of the living god. And that's what we need to do -- to amend the Constitution so it's in God's standards rather than try to change God's standards so it lines up with some contemporary view."

A presidential candidate can fudge with intelligent design, which is the message of that poll, but an avowed creationist won't survive as a candidate.

The answer is I don't know.
Even though I pointed out that the POTUS who left office 6 years ago was an avowed creationist? You do know that the majority of the country still identifies as Christian right?

GWB took refuge in the intelligent design dodge, which avoids the creationist pitfall.

I would not actually call this a "dodge" but you are free to.

"Creationism also gets a Bush nod. . . . the candidate says, "I'm not a scientist, but it seems to me that the Bible has an abundance of clues and evidence to help archeologists, astronomers and other scientists in their endless quest for knowledge. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if the Biblical account of creation and the scientific evidence of the origins of the universe will yet find common ground (Boston, 1988, p. 10).

So you are or are not aware the majority of Americans still identify as Christians? You seem to be be playing fast and loose with what you do and do not know, from post to post. ;)

I have seen the figures on American beliefs enough to have a pretty good grip on them, thanks. As for GWB's 1988 statement, it leaves enough wiggle room to avoid trouble. It's also deep enough in the past to be devalued.

He will run if the donors get behind him, but they probably won't. They will most likely go to Jeb.

We need to get money out of politics. Donors shouldn't control these things. Jeb is going to be pushed on conservative voters by the establishment and conservative media. They are have already picked their guy.
