The thing is that I did get a flu shot this year, but apparently the strain was a little different than what they were expecting, and Voila! A bunch of people who feel really crappy with their runny nose, bleary eyes, and achy bodies! This was a little different though, in that you don't run a temperature - you actually feel like you're going to freeze, even under an electric blanket! and quilts. My neighbor told me her hubby's temperature actually dropped to 96.7! Weird strain of flu! I hope they learn what the heck this type is!

I was reading that the flu spread is worse this year and may be worse next year.

Thank you. I feel a lot better than I did last week, but still find I'm craving more sleep than normal. I hope that doesn't last too much longer - I've got too much work to do around my house, not even counting taking all the decorations down and getting them stored away for another year! Aargh! :thumbdown: I read that 36 States now have a flu epidemic - it's nasty!

I'm watching the Alabama/OSU game! Wow! 21-20 at the half...

How has he taken responsibility. He said he spoke to them but didn't know what they were about? That's responsibility to you? To me that sounds like "I didn't inhale."

I believe he actually said he didn't remember talking to them, but if he did then he shouldn't have and apologized for doing so. Evidently he was speaking to any group that would listen at that time.

A copy of the EURO notice of the 2002 conference has turned up. It contains no mention of Scalise speaking at the event.

It has been shown that he was speaking to another group, in a room that was reserved by EURO later in the day.

Turns out they reacted too quickly. He never spoke to the group.

Probably worse because the CDC had to spend time pretending to give a **** about Ebola to appease the wingnuts of the country. Or, more likely, more mutations occurred since flu vaccinations are based off of last years strains.

I think I just read that it's only about 30% effective this year - but I suppose 30% is better than 0%.

I don't know if you get some kind of immunity if you have it and recover from it, but I sure wouldn't want to go through that again anytime soon! I'm not kidding when I say that even my elbows hurt! :shock:

Sorry to hear that. But sometimes exposure to an extent is the best immunity to have.

I simply will not stand for you bashing Obama and Biden like that. SURE they both went before the UN and other groups and preached about the dire circumstances that were the pending apocalypse of Ebola in the US. YES they both begged for funding and true, Obama appointed a CZAR (who promptly vanished). But to call them wingnuts for that....I just think thats over the top. I myself occasionally disagree with Obama and regularly disagree with Biden...but still....

Its my angle that when it kicked off, Obama and Biden were tripping over themselves over it. You HAVE seen the videos, right? Perhaps it was overreaction. Sure. I mean...I was at a booth at a health fair during the week and it was non-stop CNN coverage on Dallas and the deadly Ebola virus and potential for a nationwide plague. Luckily, we managed to not have the outbreaks like they continue to have in Africa. I think people in general were a bit concerned, especially when we began moving troops and civilians into the region. So since there was such a potential for concern, I am inclined to excuse Obama and Biden for overreacting. I presume the newly placed 'czar' will be refunding any pay for whatever it is he didnt do. In the Army, we had to conduct mass briefings for all civilian and military personnel and even set up emergency response programs. Just following the orders that came down from the CiC.

Thanks! Me Too!. :thumbs: I'm behind the 8-ball, project-wise and work to be finished, so I'm scrambling to get caught up? :no: I did have two walk-in closets that I had cedar paneling installed in over the Holidays, and they smell so good that I'm trying to figure out where I can put the clothes that used to be in there, and just move in there myself! :lol: I can't of course, so that means I've got to get those clothes off the spare bedroom bed and back in the closets.... and the Christmas decorations have to taken down and stored away till next year, and my house needs a good straightening up, and... I did made a list, [like I'm going to forget something that's staring me in the face] and that's as far as I've gotten, but I managed to convince myself that I was trying! :lamo: Maybe tomorrow....

You should have asked the workmen to leave you the end pieces. You wet them, wrap them in paper and leave them next to the bed. Or go to Home Stupid and get some pieces of red cedar and cut them up. Make sure it is RED cedar, best is Eastern RED, but if you have to use Pacific or Western Red.

They did leave some scraps, so I'll try that! Thanks! *hug* I honestly think that breathing that cedar smell helped me get rid of the flu a little quicker.
