Deceased Woman Wants Dog Killed, Buried With Her

Because it's disrespectful to human bodies to bury them together with animals.

It's HER human body.

I'm a little more concerned with her wanting to off the dog than wishing to be buried with it.

So? Why should she be able to have her body disrespected?

Because it's HER BODY.

What is with your obsession with controlling other people's bodies?

This is what liberals have brought us with their idea that people should be allowed to do whatever they want. It should not be legal to mix human and animal ashes.

I'd rather mix my ashes with my dogs' ashes than with my in-laws.

Good gawd, how selfish can you get huh? What a ****ed up world we live in where something like this is legal.

What an idiot and selfish bitch is this. How evil do you have to be to kill your dog so that he could be buried with you? Now if she would have left over money for the dog to be buried with her after he has died of natural causes/old age then that would have been fine, but kill a dog for being buried with it? I hope it can be forbidden by some authority because to allow this is just insane IMHO.

She is a human being.

What is your obsession with promoting licentiousness?

Does what this woman wants to do negatively effect you or any other person in any way?

So the estate has money for a lawyer but not enough to place the dog in a no-kill shelter? Seems curious.

She probably just projected her love for the dog into an assumption the dog loved her that much back and would be lost without her.

Since she is being cremated, there is no reason they cannot place the dog for it to live out its life and then cremate it, mix the ashes, and bury them together (unless the lawyer won't be paid until the estate is resolved and he doesn't want it held open for his own reasons).

There is nothing disrespectful about burying animals and humans together. I have already told people that if there isn't money to bury me in the end, then to cremate me and bury my ashes in the cemetery I have in the field behind my house for our pets.

Well apparently you think it shouldn't be questioned if you don't agree? I understand that this is the way the laws are written, but the legality of something is not justification enough. I feel that other animals being property is incredibly unjust in general.

Well if you eat meat sonny, then animals being property is your best friend. If your dog eats meat then animals being property is his best friend. Cause if they wasn't property, you would starve, or eat not nearly as well. I have eaten dog and cat horse, and sundry other critters, as far as I am concerned if I own em they mine to eat or sell to be eaten, every single one of em. I like pigs they be friendly animals make good pets too. That said when I want bacon on the table and ham in the smoker, his buddies is gona watch me do him in, hang him and drain him in preparation to go to the butcher. I am pretty sure there are more than a few ranchers and farmers who think the same. Cause if you don't own em you cant sell em. That would be a problem for the city slickers who like their meat.

The dead human in question does not share your view apparently and I think her wishes when the pooch bites the big one should be observed and the pooches ashes mixed with hers as per her last will and testament. That would be the respectful thing to do.

Because humans possess a special dignity that animals don't.

So why can't humans use their special dignity to show dignity to their pets?

I see... What is this "special dignity" and how is it affected by mixing ashes together?

Sonny? I'm a vegan actually, and my two dogs eat a plant based diet. So yes, I have a problem with other animals being property, and all vegans eat just fine by the way.

LOL that's disgusting, and this "city "slicker" doesn't care.

Part of me empathizes with the woman, whose first choice was to have the dog taken to a no-kill animal shelter to be cared for the rest of its life. However, her estate didn't have enough money for that to happen.

This made me think, what if my husband and I die and leave our three adult cats? We have no friends or family who will take them. The authorities will simply crate them up and send them to the pound, where they will shake with terror until they are finally dragged out of the cage by strangers and murdered, alone and unloved.

I don't know. Even thinking about this has made me tear up. Our pets are so dear to us, and they are our responsibility. What happens when we are gone? :(

You feed you dogs a strictly vegan diet? That's unnatural and bordering on animal cruelty. No, that is animal cruelty. Dogs are NOT vegans anybody that treats a dog as one, is ****ing fool. Your dog is NOT a human child, no matter how much you protest otherwise. Your dog is a carnivore, feed like one. Its stupid to try and feed a cow ground up bones and beef parts (mad cow anyone), just like its stupid to feed carnivore just plants. Dogs get by on dog food because it has meat in it and the proper nutrients, but it is not a good diet no matter how much Purina and the boys claim. If you want a healthy dog or cat then there diet needs to have sources of protein, raw protein preferable. That would come from bones, fat, scraps, rodents, insects, birds, and occasional hunks of raw meat around my place. Humans get by because we are omnivorous don't mean a strictly vegan diet is good for you. A animal don't get a say in what you feed them, it is your responsibility to feed them correctly, whether they be pets or food animals, not only because its the right thing to do, but because you benefit from it too.

LOL! You'll eat dogs but you wouldn't DARE feed them plants? Yea okay, you have no idea what the **** you're talking about. Dogs are not obligate carnivores. There are many dogs that have lived perfectly healthy lives on a plant-based diet. Mine get regular vet check-ups and are doing great.

What an idiot and selfish bitch is this. How evil do you have to be to kill your dog so that he could be buried with you?

First of all, her first choice was to have the animal sent to a specific no-kill sanctuary in another state. Also, most people, even many so-called animal lovers, don't even bother mentioning their pets in their wills, especially not nine-year-old male German Shepherds that have shown a tendency towards aggressive behavior. This "idiot and selfish bitch" had a valid reason for desiring to have have her dog euthanized, and it wasn't just so it could be buried with her:

Ley (the deceased owner) didn't trust Bela to be around others and the 105-pound dog has a history of aggressive behavior. He told WCPO that a veterinarian recommended Bela be put down. "He could cause damage and inflict bodily harm on strangers, in particular, children."

We have our pets provided for in our will; we have younger friends who have agreed to take them and, if they don't, we have money set aside to send them to a place where they can live out their lives.
