The body count is over 100 and it is obvious it is because of the white cop in Ferguson, Mo.

Damn, this just made me feel ill:

Pakistani army convoys drove from the scene even as families wept on the streets or carried hastily made plywood coffins to a hospital filled with the dead, many still wearing their green school blazers and sweaters.

Pakistani forces reclaim school after

You send your child off to school wearing his/her uniform, and the next time you see your child, he/she is still wearing the uniform, only now inside a coffin.

I hope the punishment for the people who did this is swift and ugly, and I won't apologize for saying or thinking that.

Swift and ugly is the right sentiment and no need to apologize. Vermin like this doesn't understand or respect societal or human norms and will not be swayed by reason. Brutal, total, eradication is the only response.

Agreed. The punishment needs to fit the crime, and the amount of mercy shown needs to have parity with the amount of mercy the perpetrators showed to a bunch of innocent children in their school. The people who were responsible for this have the same amount of redeeming qualities as Charles Manson and Ted Bundy. I'm sorry, but we this is deplorable, and I hope they suffer.

And yet we are called on to pray for those "in most need of Thy mercy." I cannot imagine how children could be slaughtered in this way (and I've read that some, like the Christian children last week, were decapitated as well as shot), but I'm pretty sure that these men are in desperate need of prayers.

This won't be easy.

How black their hearts must be. There is no soul in these people, no humanity. I cannot imagine the terror, the horror, these children felt while they were being chased down and butchered. It brings human beings down to the lowest possible and unimaginable level.

I just read about this terrible tragedy. Here is an update. Apologies if someone already posted it, as I didn't read the first 19 pages.

Pakistani officials say siege at school over

"Their sole purpose, it seems, was to kill those innocent kids. That's what they did," Bajwa said. Of the 141 people slain before government troops ended the assault eight hours later, 132 were children and nine were staff members. Another 121 students and three staff members were wounded.

We know these people exist, and after 9/11 we resolved to hunt them down, along with our partners in the world.

But 6 years of democrats in power and terror is living la vida loca.

I do. I believe that one of the ways you make the world less-bad is that you ensure that activities like this come with overpoweringly negative consequences. One of the ways that you do that is that you take their desired endpoints and you absolutely crush them.

For example, if someone kills children in Pakistan because they are angry that Pakistan is sending a military sweep through the North - well, how can we support the Pakistani's continuing or expanding operations in the north? Can we bump the people associated with this cell to the top of the kill list to make sure that not only do they and every one of their friends die in explosions, but that everyone who doesn't die gets a real good look at what happens to your 'cause" when you target children?

Last I heard, it was up to 132. And while I sort of appreciate the sentiment, the idea is still ridiculous. Heck, let's just genocide the entire planet, drop nuclear bombs all over the place, that way everyone will be in a better place. Oh wait, they won't because those 132 children weren't Christians. They're all roasting in hell now!

Its a shame it had to come to this. Apparently they targeted the children of Pak military officers. If so, I'd expect they just picked a nasty fight.
