What I am trying to tell you is that "vast majority" that want western alliances and trade will cause further divide with those that side with more Russian influences. Putin knows that, then again so should everyone else.

Ukraine's national condition is not well, and will continue to degrade because of how pro-western leaning politicians handle their minority opposition. The worse that minority is treated, the more likely Putin will not back down. We will see more Russian forces camp the borders now that we have committed arms and training.

All giving me even more evidence Congress is acting stupidly.

Morning MMC. I've lived there. It is difficult for someone who has never been there to appreciate the huge potentials of this country. Managed correctly, it could be major member of the European community. Putin has already lost Ukraine and nothing short of a full-scale Russian invasion can change that. I don't think he will go any farther. The political/economic damage this has done to Russia is already incalculable.

Iran and Ukraine are two separate issues. I think Western patience with Iran is also running out. Time will tell.

I don't think you understand. Ukraine intends to proceed without Donetsk and Luhansk.

It is now up to Obama to either sign or veto the measure. The White House said Thursday it was "looking at it.".....snip~

Naturally, The Russians once they heard this was coming down the pipe, told us. It will require a response from them. Was this a smart move by the Congress? Bo peep already has a failed policy with the Russians. In which they have exerted some muscle with us on a few occasions.

Shouldn't we be focusing our attention elsewhere? Like on BO's failed policy with Iran. What say ye?

Oh btw.....can someone let the Lib Writer at the AFP know when a country sends arms. That they are usually lethal.

All you have to do is look at the US $1.1 trillion budget. About 2/3rds of that is for Military Offense. I would say Military Defense, but no one anywhere has attacked us. When you compare the Weapons Industry to the Auto Industry and realize the Weapons Industry is at least twice as large as the Auto Industry and the Nation initiated TARP to save the Auto Industry, then you must conclude the Nation would do the same to save the Weapons Industry. Cold Wars generate great income for the Weapons Industry, but run the risk of becoming a Hot War. The Money and Power brokers promote this policy to their own CORPORATE advantage and to the detriment of the entire World, not just US taxpayers. That is the driver behind this policy. Now, a successful Russia and BRICS nations threatens the "house of cards" economy operated by our Central Banks, ergo, they attempt to bankrupt them and at the same time put extreme pressure on Iran, Venezuela, etc. with the OILY deal with Saudi Arabia. Much of what the USA is doing could be considered an "act of war" and will likely generate a huge backflash in the near term. Best description of the policy is "stupid" or the only possible solution to save the CORPORATE Central banking morass,. It doesn't have anything to do with taxpaying citizens desires/dreams/realities. If the MSM would be an honest agent in reporting these events, we might encourage change, but it's not likely. People don't own MSM, but intelligence agencies might.

Ukraine is fragmented - yes the sphere of Russian influence in the east is both military and Russian nationalism .
The militias there (separatists) have plenty of popular support, if not universal support.

Bottom line is Russia agreed to territorial integrity ( Budapest Resolution) - and then seized Crimea, and many reports show Russian troops maneuvers.
So what to do? I'd send lethal aid ( military) - it can only help retard Putin's ambitions, without any more Uk.political consequences

Russia needs to be hit with crippling sanctions. It's the only way to wake up the Russian people to stop electing Communist relics like Putin.
