African-American grand jury to examine evidence in the Michael Brown shooting

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – African-American community leaders say they’re taking action to put justice back into the hands of black people. They say they will convene a black grand jury on January 3rd and 4th to look at the evidence in the Michael Brown shooting.

Those grand jury members will go over the evidence presented to the St. Louis County Grand Jury. They also say they will call Darren Wilson, County Prosecutor Bob McCulloch, Ferguson Mayor James Knowles and Governor Jay Nixon to testify.

“What it does is educates and informs our people that two bodies came together, examined the same set of evidence, and were able to come to different conclusions. Therefore, the only thing standing between us and our ability to carry out the will of the people is to change this relationship that exists between us and the armed state apparatus that controls us.” said Omali Ye****ela of the African People’s Socialist Party.

Regardless of the decision made by this grand jury, it will have no legal bearing on the case.

To race arsonists on the left, it is a good idea. Once the excuse of racism is eliminated, the plight of black Americans will necessarily be focused on the real villain--liberalism. Cant have that. But it is funny to see those who supposedly wish to eliminate racism call for a review done by people selected exclusively by race. Only liberals can live in such a hypocritical reality. The grand jury was random and of mixed race, not made up of KKK members as the left would have us believe. Justice has been served in this case. What the left wants now is to undue that just result and replace it with racial justice which is comical since that is what they ostensibly oppose, and what was fought for decades to eliminate.

I can't help thinking that they will find Michael Brown innocent..Black people are sometimes their own worst enemies..

Of course they will find him innocent. That's the whole point. There isn't a chance in hell that the supposed 'verdict' of this black 'grand jury' will be the same as the one of the real grand jury.

I suspect so. Seems they have already made up their minds.

this is nothing more than grandstanding.

those people have no need to actually show up than the man and the moon.
I doubt they will and there is no reason to.

what a waste of time. maybe they should be rebuilding all the minority businesses they burned down would be a better start than this.

So it won't affect the outcome then..If not..what is the point?

The point is to keep attention focused on the false narrative that the plight of blacks in America is due to racism, not failings in their ideology or culture. Perpetuating racial victimhood is an industry in the US. There are too many people invested in it to allow it to collapse.

So really what you are saying is that a bunch of black people are going to investigate the crime..and find Michael Brown innocent..I can't see that changing anything..apart all those black people have just wasted their time!

Its meant to confirm the narrative that the race industry needs to survive. They NEED this to be a race issue so they will put together a kangaroo court to achieve that goal. Its really no more complicated than that.

I am enjoying your enthusiasm..who the hell will listen to their verdict?

While I believe the prosecutor threw the case, this would be just as much of a sham.

What would help is to have an independent body responsible for investigating and, if necessary, prosecuting cases of police shootings and brutalities. As it currently stands we are asking prosecutors to bring cases against police they work with and whose cooperation they need on a daily basis. Unless the cop in question is hated by the Force there is hardly any chance of indictment.

Even if a shooting is justified people aren't going to trust the call under the current system.

The same people who refused to listen to the real GJ verdict are certain to listen to this one. That's the whole point.

So do you honestly think that this all black Grand Jury will find Michael Brown guilty?

There is an independent responsible body. It's called a grand jury.

The whole thing is a farce..black v white..white v black..

White Grand Jury..Lets him off..

Black Grand Jury..No he was murdered..

It's nuts..

While I believe the prosecutor threw the case,
Presenting all the information to the GJ to decide, while unusual, is not throwing the case.
The way it was done should be the way it is done all the time. Let them decide if charges should be brought based solely on the evidence in toto.

The GJ was mixed. And they did not let him off. They determined that there was not enough evidence to charge him with a crime.

Well I don't believe this particular GJ they are putting together will be impartial.

But I believe a properly put together GJ and an outside Prosecutor would have resulted in an indictment. As for any following trial? I don't know. I am more concerned about the integrity of the system then the results of any particular case.

An independent body made up of who and by what standard would they apply justice?

When that jury doesn't come to the correct conclusion the, "don't shoot, I can't breathe", folks are going to cry about that, too.

To the underlined. No you are not, especially since we know what the evidence is. There was no reason to force a GJ to indict or to take it to trial. The evidence does not support any wrong doing on the part of the Officer.

There is an independent responsible body. It's called a grand jury.

Grand juries take their lead from the prosecutor. It is almost unheard of for GJs to go against the desires of the Prosecutor. It is not an adversarial system. The Prosecutor has full control of the reins, which is ok if the Prosecutor is impartial.

There's no such thing as an impartial prosecuter.

I wonder if the jokers creating this kangaroo court would be ok with all white juries judging black folks. Oh, wait...we tried that. How did that work out?

Yes I am. Forget about this particular case for a moment. ALL cases in which the potential defendent is a police officer should be investigated and prosecuted by an outside body, regardless of the races of everyone involved. I really don't care about the Brown case anymore. I am interested in future cases.

It is almost unheard of for GJs to go against the desires of the Prosecutor.
Which is not how it should be operated.

It is not an adversarial system.
And it wasn't adversarial this time either.

Holy ****! :doh
If a GJ is going with the desires of the Prosecutor (ie: to get an indictment) the Prosecutor is not impartial.

The way it was done this time is the way it should be done every time.
