Authorities searching for whoever set Mississippi girl on fire

COURTLAND, Miss. — The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation and the Panola County Sheriff’s Office are seeking phone records and witnesses to find out who fatally lit a teenage girl on fire. A passerby called the sheriff’s office to report a burning car along Herron Road, near Highway 51 Saturday night. 19 year-old Jessica Chambers was found outside of the car.Her father, Ben Chambers, said, “When the fire department got there they say she was on fire out in the road,” Chambers recalled. He said his daughter tried to tell responders who killed her.


EMT's took Chambers to the Regional Medical Center in Memphis, where she died.“You couldn’t recognize her because she was unrecognizable,” Chambers described what he was told by doctors. “The doctor told us it wasn’t nothing we can do you know she was burned 98% of her body.”“They said that as far as they could tell like they squirted fluid down her throat and up her nose because it just burned her on the inside so bad,” Chambers said.“She had a big gash in her head like they knocked her out,” Chambers said.

See this is definitely one of those open shut death penalty cases IMO. Find them, sentence them to death and the world is a better, safer place. A person like this can't be fixed IMO.

Totally sick and so sad . . . .

I hope its true, i hope her last words really do identify or lead to the capture of the sicko(s)

As father myself it would be hard to resist the urge to tie them to a tree, de-nail them, beat thier joints with a bat and set them on fire.

I am not an advocate of the death penalty, but in cases like this I do find it hard not to hope the perpetrator decides he doesn't want to be taken alive.

thats cool to each his own . .
its just IMO, which is meanignless as an electrical engineer since i have no degree in psychology, i just find it near impossible to believe a sicko like this can ever be rehabilitated or will never be a threat again.
 
I am a proponent if the death penalty, so it goes without saying that I think this dude should fry.

She got the last laugh by living long enough to tell them who did that to her (supposedly). I hope that portion is true.
 
My first reaction is eye for an eye in cases like this (from what we're heard of it). But I'm okay with the DP instead.

The extreme cruelty described here is unbelievable! Squirting lighter fluid in her nose and mouth so she would burn from the inside out? Dear God! I would guess she was raped and he/they wanted to destroy the evidence, but this way? :boohoo: They'll get them, but it's too bad that we don't follow the "eye for an eye" way of justice - I wouldn't object to it in this case!
 
Ive sais for quite some time the notion of an eye for an eye should be taken literal. Catch him, spray lighter fluid up his nose and down his throat, light him on fire

Whomever did this was trying to send a message.... I wouldn't be surprised if there were more to come.

It's dangerous out there, folks. He's (they? she?) is not the only one like that.

As for who did this? Execute them.

If any relative hunted that person(s) down, I wouldn't convict them for anything they did in retaliation, other than maybe thank them on behalf of the rest of us.

Ive seen people killed by fire. Hope they find the ****er.

It could be in those links you posted (haven't opened them all yet) but apparently her father is the mechanic for the sheriff's department.

I was lying in bed last night, just thinking (before I went to sleep) and I thought about her family. I thought about her father, knowing what happened to her, and imagining what her last few tortured minutes on this earth were like, and knowing he couldn't be there to protect her, and I actually started to cry.

Its horrible. I dont know that it helps, but she probably wasn't conscious for very long.

I believe she was found walking down the road. She suffered greatly burns everywhere but the soles of her feet.
 
Interesting how you never see the "all morality is relative" people come into these threads to make their case.


I'm not one of those people, and I will admit to a bit of (evil myself) satisfaction at what I believe to be this individual's likely end. Those of you who want him to burn? That can be arranged.
