Mary Landrieu loses to Bill Cassidy in Louisiana Senate Runoff Election

Possibly, but he's not historically unpopular for a president at the end of his 2nd term (I don't think at least). Seems like the last thing you want to do is mix up your message when running in a tight race.

In my state, Kay Hagan ran a terrible race. Both sides were ridiculously negative the entire time. Kay Hagan at no time stuck up for herself or Obama, but rather only attacked her opponent. That's a dumb idea, and it didn't work.

Maybe she shouldn't have won no matter what - but I doubt it. It was a close race, and she ran a ****ty campaign.

I didn't follow that one as close as turtle man (no relation) versus Alison Lightweight Grimes 30 minutes down I 75 but I thought the pundits said Hagan was going to win because she ran a localized campaign and avoided being tied to the albatross Obama

This is the "Breaking News" section. Since this was pretty much known months ago, I don't see how this qualifies as "Breaking News"

Everyone knew she was going to lose, but this is official now.

the election on the fourth, the story was the 6th, It clearly meets the rules for this section

are you trying to derail this thread because you are mad that the Dems got their asses handed to them here or are you trying to be funny?

They were damned if they did and damned if they didn't.

They couldn't run on Obama's record and they didn't have any other record to run on. I'd say it's their own fault for placing their eggs in his basket.

I think Landrieu screwed herself by playing the race and gender cards at the end.

Mary Landrieu Loses To Bill Cassidy In Louisiana Senate Runoff Election

giving the GOP 54 seats

first time the GOP has had two senators in that state.

surprised there wasn't a thread on this

With Landrieu's departure, as you said, it is the first time LA has had an all GOP senate delegation. As the AP reported late today, the GOP now holds all senate seats across nine states from the Carolinas to Texas. The unfortunate thing is that house delegations in the same region are divided almost entirely by race--white Republicans represent majority-white districts; most majority non-white districts are represented by blacks or Hispanic Democrats. But that may begin to change in another two years as minority groups are increasingly unhappy with Obama.

In January, the GOP will have its largest Senate delegation since the Truman administration which will be complimented by increased GOP seats in the House.

You are taking me too literally. My point was there was no surprise here, hence, no one rushed to make a thread. It really isn't news. In the end, what is different today that was not true yesterday?

my apologies, I see your point

So youur response is to provide a link to an article that shows I am correct? Thanks but I knew I was correct when I said it the first time. (Here is a hint: Look at the title of your article)

No, I was correcting you.

Here is my exact quote that you responded to.

The thing is the RNC pretty much stayed out of the midterms.

The GOP didn't really have to do a damn thing, just sit back and let all of Obama's policies decide the midterm elections.

RNC, that's the Republican National Committee, the GOP.

For example you have the CRA, the same political organization that Ronald Reagan belonged to. The CRA is made up of only conservatives, true conservatives. For a Republican to get an endorsement from the CRA is a big thing for Republican candidates but there are many Republicans who never get that endorsement. The CAR isn't the GOP.

FYI: It was the former President of the CRA who coined the word RINO.

In another two years, Obama ain't gonna be president anymore. You guys can't run against him forever.

Nobody's worried. Conservatives can count on the Democrats to field another ineffectual, non-leader for President in 2016.

It's going to easy to run against Obama's record, for a long time. All of Obama's **** ups are going to be with us for years to come. Democrats, for years have been running on the, "we're smarter than everyone else. Just let us run the show and everything will be great". They got their big chance and royally ****ed the dog.

Why not? Your side is still blaming George W. Bush for everything from hang nails to meteor strikes.

Obama nationalized the election making it clear his policies would be on the ballot, thus the Republican landslide.

Senators like Landreau, pawns to Obama, are now out of a job.

Makes me wonder that if Obama handn't declared his policies being on the ballot, if it'd have gone better for the Democrat campaigners.
What do you think? Why?

Indeed. Dutifully and loyally following Obama over the cliff, like Lemmings.

Heck, Obama wasn't a presence out on the various campaign trails, because all the candidates asked him NOT to be there, not to come.
That's gotta tell you something about his popularity. Normally that's an ace in the hole for candidates.
