Satanic Temple display approved for Florida Capitol

I'm not trying to prevent others from exercising their rights. Where have I ever claimed that?

What I am saying is that cluttering up a traditional display, rather than just doing a live and let live thing, is adolescent and ignorant.

Would these people ever do the same in front of a mosque? Or temple? Of course not!
They probably would as long as state supported the public display of religious items.

They have their freedom to put up their Satanic symbols, with beer cans attached, while others have the right to call them deeply stupid. They will live in an eternal spring break with wisdom, understanding and tolerance never being their ambition, or within their reach.
The correct answer is that no such displays should be on government property unless its related to a historical preservation effort.

Are you suggesting that athiests and Satanists have some sort of time manipulation device that prevents Christians from having 24hrs in a day?

You better call the Justice League to take on these time-warping menace to society!
You are offering responses to your own questions and supplying your own solutions. It's a system that seems to work for you.

Satanists Win the Right to Place ‘Grossly Offensive’ Holiday Display Next to the Nativity Inside Florida’s Capitol

...can't improve by commenting on that OP title

Unlike your good self, not everyone has the correct answer. My own answer is to live and let live while respecting the rights and traditions of other religions and cultures..

You're the one saying Christians somehow have less than 24 hrs in a day to enjoy their religion.

to allow others to enjoy the time to celebrate their beliefs.

Anyone who can live and let live should be able to ignore the actions of others, meaning all of these offended Christians should be !nature enough to not care. Same is true with all factions

So why is it that you have a problem with Satanists putting up a religious display right next to a Christian one?

Sucks when you learn that other people have rights equal to yours.

Only if you're an A-hole! The rest of us find it reassuring.

They might have a legal right to do so, but that doesn't make it any less childish. Satanists are your trolls of the religious sphere.

Freedom of religion applies to citizens of all, of all personalities and all levels of maturity.

I'll try to explain it more simply. I posted a critical satirical comparison to his message, which his mis-spelling a word as a common liberal atheist bigotry attack at Christians as being illiterate.

No, I believe he was using the spelling of an accented way of saying the word American to attack the type of ignorant fundamentalist Christians who tend to be rural and live in the south and southwest that have had a reputation for intolerance since the civil war.

It's adolescent and ignorant to include any religion except Christianity, got it. Thanks.

How are Christians being "targeted?" The mere presence of having a Satanic display in the same presence as a Christian one is "targeting" them? If you excuse the expression but it seems to me that Christians must be the most faithless spoiled brats ever.

Do you see them trying to put their displays in any area that doesn't have a Christian display?

As far as what you said about Christians, I'm not Christian.

They're cowardly fools.

They would never dare to express those same views during Ramadan. Milad un Nabi, Malwid : a major Islamic Festival

You keep trying to draw comparisons involving what people would/wouldn't do to Islam and yet... the reason Islamists hate the West is that the West has secular leisures that Islamists simply can't stand because of their religious belief. Seem kind of odd no? That people wouldn't dare to piss of Islam... and yet... the reason why Islamists hate the West is that we engage in dionysian displays of sexual "deviance", greed and all around partying that events like Ramadan strictly forbid or look down upon.

Hell, in this year's Ramadan, Americans specifically dedicated a day to eating hotdogs, hamburgers and drinking. That's not even counting the millions of days per year (that's not a mistake) that we dedicate to BBQs, summer sales, making pornography films, staring at women in bikinis, drinking, having unmarried sex, etc. You act as if the very lifestyle that Americans lead is not offensive to the Islamist world every single day of the year. That you think atheists are cowardly - when the reason some Muslim ideologues hate us is because of the secular activities Americans engage in - is pretty funny.

Do you know of any city, town, county or state in America which is putting Muslim holiday displays on publicly-owned property?

You are correct, atheists and those of non-Islamic faiths are not allowed the use of public space in many nations that are Muslim majority - so what? Is that what you want in America, only Christian displays on publicly-owned property? There are no laws in this country, or shouldn't be anyway, that prevent religious displays on private property accessible to public view. There is no attempt to stop people from putting up Nativity displays or menorahs or statues of Ba'al or Baphomet or a simple wooden post on private property.

Curious to see how many know the "simple wooden post" reference

Yeah, I sometimes wonder if these folks are arguing we should be more like Iran instead of less.

No one is forcing their religion on you. If so you'd be forced into Church regularly and told what to believe and what not do believe.

There are people of all religions and people with no religion, who disapprove of abortion. Do you genuinely understand this fact, or are you going on your feelings?

Tell me you think this when your kid's school starts having teachers lead the class in Islamic prayers.

Reallly? There is a rule here which states that leftists must always have verification for every claim they make. In this case you would need my quote.

I agree, which is what most Christians will be doing while commenting how ignorant these people really are. The Festivists (even their name came from a TV show) are not going to ruin anyone's Christmas by drawing attention to themselves, that's certain, but it is a comment on the dumbing down of American culture.

Live and let live does not mean that public idiocy should remain comment free.

Never said it should, but I wish people had thicker skin

So why is it that you have a problem with Satanists putting up a religious display right next to a Christian one?
Because it detracts from the traditional Christmas spirit that is part of the American tradition and culture, a time of God Bless Us All and a reflection of the goodness in the human spirit.

I don't know what the satanists are celebrating, or what their long term goals are (if they have any), and I'm not really interested. It seems they're only trying to draw attention to themselves but lack any substance behind their efforts.

What? How many times must I explain that I believe it to be ignorant before it finally sinks in??? What's happened to the American educational system??
