Dallas (CNN) -- The U.S. Supreme Court has delayed the scheduled execution on an inmate on death row in Texas amid questions about a psychologist who testified that blacks and Hispanics were more likely to commit future crimes.
This is a man who had been diagnosed with schizophrenia years before he shot his wife's parents to death, and a man who was never cured of his disease. He now has a reprieve, and there are so called Christians in Texas calling for him to be executed. Yea, that's what Jesus would do, right? El wrongo, chemical breath. In fact, Jesus had a lot to say about fake Christians, and that, when the end of days came, some would awaken to everlasting life, and others to everlasting shame. He also said that there was a special place in hell for hypocrites.
But let's get off the religious arguments for a second, and discuss whether or not we in Texas are no better than savages. Yea, the man committed the crime. Still, do we execute the mentally ill? It seems we do if he happens to be black. On the other hand, we give a hand up to those who kill 4 people while drunk, because he happens to be rich and white, and suffering from a mental illness called affluenza.
Don't give me hell over this. The facts speak for themselves. The white guy got off with a slap on the wrist. The black guy is still on death row, despite a reprieve. Racism? You betcha it is.
