I do have a doubt. If they won't accept any forensic evidence or the Grand Jury decision, why would you think they would accept a video?

They would say it was doctored or it didn't show what you think it shows.

This is still a white killing a black, and that is all that matters in this case.

You want to turn that around, then find a way for the citizens to record government activities without harassment. As it is now, not only is the fox guarding the henhouse, the fox owns the henhouse.
Did you notice and understand this part of the quote: "...We're against pervasive government surveillance, but when cameras primarily serve the function of allowing public monitoring of the government instead of the other way around, we generally regard that as a good thing..." You should read the proposals detailed in my link instead of just making knee-jerk assumptions about the ACLU. (AFAIK)The ACLU is the only nationwide organization addressing the issue of government video surveillance on behalf of the public..

yes, but they never could have gotten that "hands up" slogan off the ground, and no "eyewitnesses" saying he was shot in the back. All the bad info at the very beginning of the event triggered the chaos that followed. A video would have stopped all that from happening.

If you remember in this case, the police didn't make any statements for quite a while. I am sure even if they had the video, they would have done the same thing.

Now with that in mind, the Hands Up Don't Shoot crap came out right away from the statement from the accomplice. Maybe it wouldn't have grown so big, but I think it wold still be part of the narrative.

That's what I responded to. Did you not notice or understand what I wrote?

I disagree, that was the press reporting and inciting all that from the beginning. The public wouldn't have access to the video that early on.

I'll do it. My schedule has been a bit slow lately.

The police departments. That is not ideal and third party might be better but that would increase costs. But is better than having no record at all. The police would have to explain any missing content. It is very difficult, possibly impossible to edit the content in a way that is undetectable due to the timestamps.
