Criminals usually go down swinging so, it's a faux gesture. A lie, if you will.

Cops aren't perfect. There are bad cops. Just like there are wicked people in nursing homes who abuse the elderly, and foster parents who take in kids and lock them up in closets while starving them. Can anyone on here or anywhere else say these are the norm rather than the exception? Nope.

Isolate and punish the bad cops. Toss the book at them and humiliate them for their malfeasance. But to perpetuate the false narrative that it's a systematic issue that cops are shooting people with their hands up in surrender is not only disingenuous, it's downright dangerous. And when you have lawmakers doing it, it's worse. These clowns should be above this. But they aren't, apparently.

Charles Barkley made a lot of sense there.
Actually, I tend to think we should let communities police themselves. If the African-American communities policed themselves, it takes race out of the equation entirely.

Exactly! Even if that includes parroting a false narrative. In other words, a lie.

Perhaps so, but if you think Repubs never make political features you're dumber than anyone gave you credit for.

Among the congressional members to send the not-so-subtle message of alliance with St. Louis-area protesters late Monday night were New York’s Hakeem Jeffries and Yvette Clarke, as well as Texas’ Al Green.

Ferguson protest: Hakeen Jeffries, Yvette Clarke, Al Green go 'Hands up, don't shoot' on House floor - Washington Times

Saw this on Morning Joe's show (complete with pictures of the idiots doing it). He's about to boil over. This is day 2 of his rants about the idiots who are perpetuating the lie that the PD shoots people whose hands are raised in surrender.

Nice. Now our lawmakers are doing this? And this is supposed to help the current situation in Ferguson....how?

You want to object to the GJ's decision....fine. I get that and while I disagree, I support it. But to see lawmakers intentionally carrying on a lie and implying that the police officers shot Brown while he was in surrender is disgusting. But except for Joe Scarborough and a few right wingers, nobody will call them to task for this.
Normal for most members of congress, let's be part of the problem and not the solutions. We already have a divide and conquer strategy by our political leaders when it comes to searching for votes. Dividing this nations into groups, pitting one group against another, even making each group fear the other, even hate the other all in search for votes.

I am not surprise and even expected as much. With the divide and conquer strategy being used more and more, it is no wonder our leaders in Washington can not govern anymore. It is no wonder that polarization occurs, it is no wonder that this country is divided more today than in the past.

This doesn't deal with race, but it proves that this nation is becoming more and more divided:

67% of Americans see a more divided nation today than 4 years ago
    35% blame President Obama
    34% blame Republicans in Congress
23% blame both parties and the President

Voters See A More Divided Nation; GOPers More Enthusiastic to Vote - Rasmussen Reports™

The divide and conquer strategies that both parties use to win elections is something I have been harping on for a long time. Apparently I am not the only one to notice how this nation is fast becoming more divided than ever. Abraham Lincoln once said, “A house divided against itself cannot stand.” This nation is that house.
This Reform Party member thinks it is high past time that we start electing Americans to congress and the presidency who put America first and their political party further down the line. But for way too long we have been electing Republicans and Democrats who happen to be Americans instead of Americans who happen to be Republicans and Democrats.

Like the ones who go and represent the lie that Obama is a socialist?

It's not a lie. He has many socialist ideals. Wealth redistribution chief among them. Fail.

Is it really the "hands up don't shoot" motion?

Everytime I see it, I think they just forgot to put on their deodorant.

Settling what? What do you need settled? Settling your nerves?

If your sensibilities are being offended or your peace of mind is not settled that on you? Sorry that protesters are not allowing you to move on and sweep this topic under the rug.
