Democrats take to House floor in ‘Hands up, don’t shoot’ Ferguson protest

It's a sad state of affairs when we have to teach that kinda stuff to children. Police (the ones in question, not saying this of all cops) should really exercise more caution and common sense on the job. Don't put your goddamn finger on the goddamn trigger until you have assessed the situation properly. Pretty simple stuff.

Problem there is that might be the cop's last assessment.

You have no idea about these sorts of situations, do you?

Everyone on the left is now an expert on what the cop should have done in those 90 seconds. This huge, powerful man is trying to kill you. A tremendous danger to the public. What do you do? Don't go after him? Then what do you say when he harms someone? The cop would be responsible.

He then comes after the cop. That man made his choices. Why doesn't anyone one on the left question why he charged a police officer with a gun instead of running away? He left the cop with one option, unless you consider letting Michael Brown kill him as another viable option.

Right. Even the autopsy shows how hard it is to accurately shoot someone who's coming at you.

I would pretty much guarantee that more people died in Chicago in November because of gang violence and thuggery than died at the hands of men who are dressed like that in the last 5 years.
The part that is just annoying is the quest for 'the cause'.

-In August, a cop shoots an 18 year old. Ohmigawd!!! COPS are murdering people in broad daylight! He was executed. He had his hands up! Evil cops! lets riot and loot!
-They riot and loot and set half the town on fire and the police respond by holding lines. Not by attacking them, but by holding lines. Response? Ohmigawd! Militarized police! Its their fault! Evil militarized police!
-Riots continue, governor doesnt send in the National Guard and its Ohmigawd!!! Why didnt they send IN the military!!!
-Grand jury doesnt indict based on the actual evidence and its Ohmigawd! Evil justice system! No justice no peace! The prosecutorrigged the hearing, we must loot and riot, riot and loot! Hands up, dont shoot! Evil corrupt justice system lets white cop get away with killing young black man. Black lives matter!
-Turns out...physical evidence, autopsies, and eyewitness statements all support the officers version and many of the eyewitness are PROVEN to be liars (and admit it) and its Ohmigawd!!! Evil cops, evil justice system, militarized cops!

Cops.Cops not wearing body cameras. Cops in militarized gear. All of it is built on what has been proven to be a lie. But dont let the facts get in the way of a good 'cause'. All they have to do is FIND one.

This is not what a free country looks like. This is the standing army that the founders warned us about....

Good thing they don't patrol with those. Like ever.

SWAT has been around a while haven't they ?

It was a free Country then, why are things so different now ?

And where's the faux outrage for the Federal agencies that have run around like weekend warriors ?

Looks like a lot of protection for the police. We sure don't want that! I heard a SWAT guy talking about how they are able to rescue people and save people when they have these type of armored vehicles. What about tanks, rocket launchers, attack fighters, etc...? I don't see any of those offensive weapons in use. Any police departments have cruise missiles?

You are against police using tear gas and having body armor, like the last photo? Why in the world would you be against that?

Simple answer? Media use of buzzwords. "Militarization" sounds awful. Makes us think of Gestapo. Right? I mean anyone who doesn't understand what the police use the grenade launchers for anyway.

I would honestly like to see some law enforcementation of equipment. There are a lot of things the police could probably redesign to make better for their job. Handcuffs? Batons? Paintball guns (pepper ball guns)?

I think people are upset that there isn't a lot of middle ground responses for police. They have their hands, baton, taser, and a gun. If they had better equipment to stand off with...that could be a start.

Don't let the door hit y'all on the way out.

How original, I've never heard that one before. But you don't need to worry, as soon as I am able to leave I will be moving too fast for some door to hit me anywhere.

Yet another in a seemingly endless series of threads put forth from folks pretending to center their faux ideology around liberty and freedom but who seem to spend most of their free time lately criticizing the exercise of just that.

We have the right to criticize their stupidity.

Where is the artillery? Heavy weapons? Gunships? Tanks? All I see are some cops sporting equipment that is defensive in nature. Armies are an offensive orginization.

The protest gesture is an unadulterated lie! Brown never put his hands up and shouted "Don't shoot". Do we need to draw a picture for you?

"Hands Up! Don't Shoot!"

Gee whiz. If Brown had done that, he'd have gotten a minor beef, that the cop may not even had done anything about, but then, that's not what he did, is it?

This whole thing appears to be designed to detract from the facts of the case in favor of a dishonest and inaccurate narrative.

Cops aren't the ones that are killing the vast majority of the black male youth. Other black male youths are.

This about the race card, not reducing murders.

To all liberals - What do you want?
