Officer Wilson pens letter to supporters

Because it stokes the fire, as the riots have shown - facts be damned, and further endangers Wilson's life. The fact that his general address and new wife info has been provided by careless journalism does not help.

Defense can come later. He's cleared at the state level no need to jeapordize his freedom or safety this soon after.

That's my interpretation of SMTA's comment.

IMO this guy needs to tell the protester to STFU

EDIT: You know what, I think we all need to tell these rioters to STFU. I am sick and tired of watching these morons loot and burn and the response is to give them more goodies and wring our hands F*** that!

I guess it is a personal and personality decision. Myself I would be in their faces saying what I think of people who think a cop should not shoot a man who attacks him and tries to take his gun. I tend to have a confrontational attitude though which is reflected in my name I guess which was given to me early in life as my character rapidly developed.

Ahiga, he fights.

I am the same, but some fights cannot be won no matter how right you are.

I try and exercise the wisdom to know the difference.

Those who condemn him will never accept facts or truth, so why bother?

Folks who act like fools and burn and loot their own town have to live with the results.

Let them, as I don't care.

True not all fights can be won but all fights can be fought. Sometimes it is better to fight and lose than to submit. JMO though.

I am talking about the rioters more than the peaceful protesters but even they need to STFU. The evidence is overwhelming and they are protesting the wind and the rain.

Okay. I see additional edit. The rioters should face justice for sure and may still yet. There's plenty of evidential footage. However, I don't know all the facts yet as to night of announcement but the city is in a damned if you do/don't situation. As for the topic though, people with closed mind are not going to change their opinion, especially as it relates to the Brown supporters, so the best thing to do for Wilson is keep low for awhile. No matter what now, he cannot be a Ferguson cop any longer. Meaning he cannot perform his duties while surely everything will face extra and overburdening scrutiny.

You know what, that brings up a point I have been thinking about. I will start a thread.

If the store owner had a CCW, Officer Wilson's day would have likely been about responding to the justifiable homicide of a big strongarm robber instead of getting treatment for injuries and dealing with the fact that he shot the thug, himself. And so 25 buildings that burned down on Monday would still be standing today.

Point well stated PB.

Was what you claim... in the official testimony that you read... or news reports you heard??? You seem to question other's understanding of the evidence, yet never cite your source.

Did you read the official transcripts of the witness depositions by the FDP, to the DA, or testimony given by witnesses in the GJ proceedings???

I don't think you have read any transcript of any testimony. I think you have pieced together your version from newspaper and Tv reports and forum posts.

If you had read anything in the official transcript bout "cigars in the hand as reasoning" you would have posted the citation. If I had taken the time to read the transcript, I would have made sure that I used it to prove my point, claim, or contention.

Interesting. You've closed you mind to any response I may have had to your question, before I've had a chance to respond. In fact, you've invented a narrative and response that should be provided out of thin air.

At least you're providing some aspect of the answer to my question. It would appear that to some, rejection of the GJ's decision isn't based on anything but bias and agenda.

Agreed. If I owned one of those businesses.....I would take the insurance money and re-locate to another city.

Easier said than done. How far are you willing to "relocate" in order not to be the 3rd "autozone" for example in one block. I would guess that the insurance would barely cover store stock where will the extra come from to rebuild.

I'm sorry, as I wrote, I had no intent to be disrespectful. Obviously you missed that. It has been presented a thousand times, including in the statement of the DA when the GJ decision was announced, that Officer Wilson called for backup after his initial stop when he observed the cigars in Brown's hand, and his perfect match to the broadcast description of the assaulter who committed strong arm robbery at the market.

It just seems rather remarkable that someone who apparently has paid no attention to the case would question anything about it.

Paid no attention? Yes I paid attention until that's about all that was reported 24/7 on all the news outlets until I tuned all of them out. And like I said the last report I saw before I tuned out was the police chief's statement that Officer Wilson wasn't aware of the robbery by Brown. So get your panties out of a wad and calm down.

The only thing that interested me of late was the whether Wilson woukd be indicted. Otherwise I've lost interest on the media masturbation fest.

LOL

Happy Thanksgiving.

That's funny. I have never see three Autozones on one block. If it were an Autozone, I am quite sure I could find a prime spot. The nearest one from me is at least 7 miles. And you are quite wrong on the insurance. The business I am in, we have 31 locations. Over the years, we have had locations damaged or destroyed by fires and flooded out by hurricanes. Insurance pretty much covered everything. No business merely insures stock on hand.

Okay point completely overlooked. your "31 locations" is nowhere similar to the conditions that burned to the ground in Ferguson.

The insurance also covers damage from vandalism.

Okay good for you. Just keep rubbing that into the small mom & pop stores faces that do not share your policy and store sizes.

BTW "autozone" was used as an example. Would it made any difference if I said Martha's Hair & Nails. Rhetorical. I'm not continuing this OT sidetrack.

I don't consider myself a supporter of either side, but I think Wilson would have greatly benefited from a body/head camera.

I am only making the point that you are wrongly assuming that the insurance these businesses carry only covers the stock on the shelf. I am including the mom and pops businesses.

After such a violent struggle within the car, do you think said camera would be operational enough for that? For all we know if it would still be working it could be pointing down to the ground with no audio. I think Wilson benefited greatly with the physical evidence. Regardless, camera or no camera he is still out of a police job at Ferguson.
