Exactly, nor can he create any new program. Also, his cost for Background checks would be astronomical.

At current staffing levels, USCIS issues about 1 million green cards per year. And when Obama enacted his first executive amnesty, the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals in 2012, wait times for legal immigrants to get their visas tripled from under five months to over 15 months. Only about 1 million illegal immigrants were eligible to apply for DACA amnesty and only about 600,000 were given amnesty......snip~

This is precisely why congress should sit back and wait until January. What ever lawsuits are entered doesn't matter regarding congressional action as a response in January. Now if the House wants to do something in December financially, it certainly can. What is really needed is legislative action, and it serves the right's best interests to wait until January for that. I hope cooler heads will prevail in this. It's necessary just now.

So it begins. Suspecting this to go absolutely nowhere. Just another stunt.
It must be reindeer game season in DC.

I'm not a fan of this move at all. It would be refreshing if both sides play nice with each other but I guess that won't happen.

But they are not. At least not all of them. And the sensible part of the GOP knows by going ape**** over the issue t is going to really kill them with voters in 2016. But the dominant nutbag part of the party doesnt get that, and will quite likely torpedo the party over this issue over the next year.<snip>
You would THINK a bunch of adults would know this and act accordingly. But apparently there's a greater likelihood of me waking up naked tomorrow with Sidney Crosby than politicians acting smartly.

Looks like most will wait until the New Congress is in. Plus McConnell said there wont be any government shutdown. He knows that's what BO peep was trying to goad them into doing.

    Republican Texas Congressman Michael McCaul
, who will serve as the new chairman for the House Homeland Security, warns Obama's action is a threat to American democracy and vows to use his new position to stop the "unconstitutional action."

As chairman of the Committee on Homeland Security, I will use every tool at my disposal to stop the president’s unconstitutional actions from being implemented.”.....snip~

Rep. Matt Salmon (R-AZ) and Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT), have said they will use the power over the purse to defund Obama's amnesty.....snip~

Why do you think McConnell was so quick to surrender to the tyrant?

Its not surrender.....its being patient and waiting until Harry Reid is no obstacle anymore.

McConnell: 'We will use the power of the purse' .....

“It takes 60 votes to do a lot of things in the Senate, but there are some things we can do with 51 votes.”

On the surface, that sounds rather positive. That means policy riders on the appropriations bills.

McConnell promised to allow amendments on the floor from members of both parties, meaning there will be a lot of roll call votes on these riders, and therefore numerous opportunities in 2015 to affect policy via the budget process......snip~
